    Another breezy day at Sea
On our way out today ,we passed many smaller mono charter boats that decided to play safe and stay out of the wind. Everyone that knows me knows I'm not that type of skipper . If you book me I'll put you on the fish, not out of the wind. Its well worth paying a little more and treating yourself to a comfortable day. The rest is history . Loads of big Bream to 4lb, fun and laughter all round . I don't do many angling trips ,but the ones I do I do well.

  • 25/05/2024 Fishing Report by Philip Higgins on Mistress Linda (Poole, Dorset)

25 May 2024 by Philip Higgins

    Report on-board Mistress Linda

For a change we choose to punch the tide and go to the Jurassic Coast marks enjoying the stunning scenery on the way, as we arrived the birds were working and as soon as the feathers hit the water we were into decent size Mackeral. After a little search we choose to anchor a spot often fished in years gone past by the legendary Poole skipper Pat Manley and within minutes we were into fish, Pollack, Congers, dogs and plenty of very good quality bream the biggest falling to Andy M at 3lb 7ozs. The good fishing lasted all through the tide and most of the bream were returned.

    Report on-board Mistress Linda

The Bream fishing continues to excel with some very noteable catches, sadly the Plaice and Ray fishing has taken a short downturn as we found out over the last few days on the upside we have had some good sport with plenty of Tope to 30lb Congers and dogs along with a bonus Brill .

  • 18/05/2024 Fishing Report by Malcolm nightingale on Chopsea (Poole, Dorset)

18 May 2024 by Malcolm nightingale

    Report on-board Chopsea

Well flat calm today 18th may, was supposed to have rain most the day off the Dorset coast around poole.
Well we decided to go regardless as the sea would be calm.
Had probably 2 showers in the morning and then the sun came out.
Firstly we went and fished for mackerel for fresh bait, after getting more than enough and some for the table we headed off to find the Bass. Couldn't go wrong today as the bass nailed the live baits.
Well lets see what tomorrow holds as hopefully same as today but as they say no day is the same.
Well fished to my crew and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
My two keepers for the table and family.

    Malcolm

  • 08/05/2024 Fishing Report by Philip Higgins on Mistress Linda (Poole, Dorset)

8 May 2024 by Philip Higgins

    Report on-board Mistress Linda

After a long period of unsettled weather last week was fantastic with calm seas, blue skies and temperatures more normal for this time of year and the fishing did not let us down. We were engaged in the Bream tagging project and were tasked with catching x amount of Black Bream to be tagged and released which was achieved very quickly. The team from Plymouth Uni went to work operating on each bream and after the recovery period swam away as they finished we were treated to a group of playful Dolphins jumping all around the boat and as fortune was on our side we had already deployed an acoustic receiver to listen to the bream and record the tagged fish nearby but this was completely drowned out by the Dolphins making their trademark clicking noises everyone onboard took lots of pics and recordings of the bream and dolphins. It also gave Tanya from NE to join in and catch her 1st sea fish which made her day.
The other trips produced lots of good quality Bream and Mackeral with the odd Bass taking the small bream baits.
