Hi all, well the news is ------- we have a new boat for you, she is called Warrior II and is an Evolution 33. Although FORCE TEN has been a loved part of the family for 18 yrs and we've enjoyed some fantastic days aboard her, the opportunity arose and I jumped at the chance of this gorgeous vessel. She has more power , is a lovely boat to fish aboard and will give you more fishing time , comfort and hopefully more success!!!!. If you are thinking of a trip (or two) please don't wait as the shark season is almost fully booked but I do have a few dates still available (inc. 1 or 2 wk end days)
Last year it was hard some days trying to chase out a bit further to the Sharks as there were less and they seemed further out (some days ,due we think to the commercial long liners) This yr we have the vessel to compete .
We shall be all up and running by the end of April so if it's Half or Full day reef fishing you're after we do have availability.
Good luck and tight lines, hopefully see you soon, (Sharky) Pete Davis

8 Mar 2017 by Peter Davis

Hi all, just a quick report to say sorry for the lack of reports !!!! The winter has been quiet, we did get out after the Porbeagles on 1st of December after reports from the commercial hand liners that they were getting them on the hand line gear but to no avail with us. Steve Dawe did have several really good whiting even then but have not been out since. The time has come to sort out the boat (painting, repairs and renewals) for the coming season (which is very heavily booked) but if you need to book let me know as I already have 1 or 2 cancellations. The highlight of last season was the brilliance of it all !! nearly 500 sharks from Force Ten topped off by this beauty of a blue , caught by Guy Radford and measured 117" X 39" and 94" fork measurement. est at 180 + lb. In addition to this we saw lots of Bluefin Tuna and a couple were caught by the Looe Shark Boats so with all this we are looking forward to this season with baited breath !!. will keep you all better informed this year . Tight Lines, Pete

Well the season is well and truly underway !! Still not a lot of bait fish but Whiting, Pollack, Ling and Conger all feeding.
I begin the Shark Fishing this Friday although there has been some success - Dave - Mystique has had a couple of Blue Sharks so we know they are here, just got to get out and catch some !!
I have uploaded some pictures of a few of the fish we have had on recent trips and one of my old mate Pete Rout with a Bull Huss he had with us last Sept.
Look out for some Sharky Pictures very soon "hopefully"

  • 30/03/2016 Fishing Report by Peter Davis

30 Mar 2016 by Peter Davis

Hi all, here we are then - new year / new season !! We did our first trips last week Wed and Fri, Weather fine enough but water temp down at 7 degrees !! Fishing slow with very few Pollack but a little run of ling, biggest to Brian Copeland @ just under 20lb plus all the normal Pouts, Cuckoo's and poor cod. There was a little show of Mackerel which is promising. This winter Force Ten has been down the boatyard for a refit and is now looking good with a new transom door to let us get the monsters aboard a lot easier and the return to the sea easier still. Looking forward to seeing all my regulars and hopefully a few new faces. That's it for now but will keep you informed as the fishing picks up and the temp rises. Tight Lines, Pete

28 Sep 2015 by Peter Davis

Hi all, well what a season !! Wed this week marks the end of a fantastic sharking season with the boats from Looe having had almost 800 fish between them and August and Sept for the boats that do a lot of sharking have seen amazing numbers being boated. Dave Keen is down with us at the moment and although in for bad weather today (Mon) and rest of week not looking good, had a great weekend catching 10 on Sat and 8 Sunday the highlight being a very good 100lb er on 16lb line in poor weather did a great job and fought the fish for an hour before we lasso'd her. I was bottom fishing for a few days last week and had a monkfish (anglerfish) which we had for tea the next evening, some nice Ling and lots of Congers so fishing is good at mo. The new shark season starts on Thurs (October 1st) so There will be competition to get the first of new season !!
The Shark Angling Club of GB is going from strength to strength at present with lots of new members from lots of different ports and developments which members will find out about in next newsletter. Well here's hoping the sharks keep coming for a good while yet and will try and give you all a final report for the year next month, all for now, tight lines and keep those hooks sharp !! Pete

8 Aug 2015 by Peter Davis

Hi all, here we are well into August now the glory of the victory in the shark festival just a glowing memory !!
The sharking is on the whole very good with Steve Chivers had 3 days of the boat to himself and managed 16 sharks up to an est. 70lb which doesn't sound much until you realize they all came on 12lb test tackle !
My mate John Doswell brought 1 of his crews down the other week and his brother in law Roger qualified for the SACGB with a
very nice 110lb male Blue shark. Dave Bond on Mystique had a good male shark this week at 96"x 32" est 125lb
and said it put up a great scrap ! The weather in July has not been kind and have cancelled a lot of days .
The Reef fishing (not that I have done that much) has been Good with the boats still catching Cod ,Pollack, and some Cracking Ling. Lets hope we can have a spell of settled weather now and I can report some record breaking catches ! That's it for now, will keep you informed. Tight Lines, Pete

  • 19/07/2015 Fishing Report by Peter Davis

19 Jul 2015 by Peter Davis

Here we are then over half way through July, the sharks are biting and the mackerel are still hard to find in any numbers. We finished June after the excitement of Nigel's fish and started July by winning the annual S.A.C.G.B
Festival with Steve Dawe (yes the same man who qualified with me last year) catching a very nice 109lb Blue Shark and taking the best fish over the 3 days (8 boats).
To remind any sharkers who catch a Shark and are interested in joining the Shark Angling Club of G. B. the measurements are Blue 7ft from tip to tip and all others 5ft from tip of nose to FORK of tail, a girth measurement is always handy as well ! (you can txt me for more details if having trouble contacting club)
The weather is not being kind at the moment and a few more trips than I would like are having to be cancelled.
The Reef fishing is patchy at present and is Fab one day and challenging on others ! Looking fwd to seeing all of you that have dates booked - sharpen those hooks and check your gear - don't let a 2 year old swivel cost you the fish of a lifetime !!
Finally a few quality sharks have been boated, measured and returned this last few days, best of 125lb (est) aboard the Mistique 2 with Dave Bond. That's it for now, keep that rod bent !!
    Pete

  • 23/06/2015 Fishing Report by Peter Davis

23 Jun 2015 by Peter Davis

Well it's not too shabby at the moment. Friday 19th June, out sharking, had a fifty pound Blue come sniffing around then went away for about 1hr 30mins then back she came and took Nigel's bait but also doubled back and went through his line. She very obligingly went on and took Ollie's bait (never shark fished before). He caught the fish and got our trace back !! Meanwhile Nigel has rigged and re-baited and is on the way back out when I hear
"I've got one on" well- 50minutes later I had the trace in my hand (for the first time)OMG what a fish (9ft + long and a massive girth) off it went again ! Twice more it came to Force Ten but after the Third time of having it up to the boat it went about 20ft from the boat and started to roll, up his trace onto his 30lb mono and you can guess the rest !!
My nearly 50yrs of sharking I have never seen a bigger Blue Shark, probably 200lb +. After all that excitement Reef Fishing on Sat 20th saw one of my youngest anglers, Josh, beat his dad and catch a nice 14lb Ling( see latest catch Piccy's) along with a good selection of other reef fish. Well Done, great effort for a 9yr old !!

  • 15/06/2015 Fishing Report by Peter Davis

15 Jun 2015 by Peter Davis

It's a bit later than last year but here we go then !! We had a lovely conditioned Blue Shark today to (Dave Keen) of approx. 90lb (86" x 32") so that marks the start of our sharking for 2015 !!
Typhoon did have the first from Looe day before yesterday so although it's a slow start it's a start never the less.
We had the annual MOD comp last Friday and the two teams aboard Force Ten kept busy all day with Whiting, Pouts, Ling, Conger, Pollack, and a few very welcome Haddock !! I am afraid those of you who have not booked will not have a lot to go at but I do have a few place bookings available. Keep checking back and I will try to write a bit more often. Tight Lines, Pete

  • 28/04/2015 Fishing Report by Peter Davis

28 Apr 2015 by Peter Davis

Due to the winter weather not being kind and letting us get out we did our 1st reef trip on Sunday 26th April and the weather proved to be kinder than was expected !! We caught Mackerel for bait and then had a few Whiting and a Decent Cod on the drift. At around noon we put the anchor down and that was not too bad either - few Ling, Pouts. Wrasse and 3 Congers best at 23lb but the water is warming now ! Won't be long before Congers are really feeding and let's hope the Sharks are early like last year. This is my first report for year and I will try and keep you all up to date as the action starts, Tight Lines and don't forget - the more you go the luckier you'll be !! Pete
