We had a full 12 hours to play with today.
Wind much fresher than forecast which made some challenging conditions for a good while this morning.

The lads cracked on and pulled out some nice fish though.

They all landed tope up to the 40lb mark. 1 fish decided to get tangled and come in backwards to the boat with me carefully handlining her in...to then untangle her self the boat and take another 100 yards of line for another scrap! We did very well landing that one as the skin had started to fray his mainline!

After the lads had their tope fix we tried an inshore wreck where they all went home with a feed of Pollack and a solitary codling fillets. There were plenty of coalies hitting the feathers too, but only to around 1lb and a half.

Current operating procedures due to covid mean I am running private charters only with a max of 5 customers.
Prices whilst running with limited numbers are £200 5 hours. £300 8 hours for the boat.
Rod hire £5pp. Lugworm £3 a pack. Or feel free to bring your own tackle and bait.
If i am allowed to carry more passengers then individual trips can resume and I can allow more people onto charters with prices adjusted accordingly.

    Thanks. Jack.

Bit of a lump on today so plan A wasn't an option to get further offshore.

So we got plenty of mackerel to start off with for bait and went after the tope. Between the 5 lads in around 5 hours of fishing for them they had between 25-30 running well above 45lb. Plus plenty of dropped runs and snap offs. The tope fishing seems to be on fire at the moment!

The fishing over all today was pretty good for the time of year. 1st spot was slow with just a few fish landed but a short move and it was as many whiting as you want. Not all big fish but plenty to take home. And this lovely bar of silver in the middle of them all!

We made a move down the coast and as I told the guys the amount of fish would probably drop but they should be better quality. And that's pretty much what happened. Still plenty of whiting but a better size and some decent dabs.

Once we stocked up on mackerel we tried another inshore wreck today to put a bend in the rods seeming the tope have been playing hard to get.

Pollack, codling and coalies up to 5lb. A few congers to 23lb.

The building tides next week should see the tope return.

Not posted in a while. As like with all skippers with this weather we've been busy getting out. Fishing is changing trip to trip, and that's IN A DAY, not a 'you should of been here yesterday' story. One trip good fishing, the afternoon a little quiet. Or vice versa. But we try out best as always.
This last few days has seen plenty of mackerel which is good as they were late to show. Alot of which a good size.
Around 20+ species landed over the last few weeks. Which adds to the variety.
A few individual spaces left this month so give me a call if you want to get out.

Plenty of whiting, dabs, codling, dogs, huss up to 15lb. Some nice gurnards showing. Mackerel are very hit and miss at the moment. Once this algi clears it should be back to normal. A John dory was landed today . A bit of a rare catch for these parts but we do get the odd ones.
    Pictured is a tub gurnard.
