    Report on-board Lady Grace

Today I had 2 people on a 4 hour trip. It was a little slow to start with just a few whiting caught by Nina and John unfortunately wasn't catching much. As we got to.the to of the tide Nina was in with a cod whivh put up a lovely fight and shortly after on the first of the ebb I caught a cod too. John caught a few whiting and then caught a little dab. 2 cod, 1 dab and 9 whiting today in total, not quite as good as the last few trips but better luck next time.

    Report on-board Cleveland Princess

Its been a mixed week with 4 trips under our belt and 1 more to go we started off on Tuesday with Total Sea Fishing competion winners that were staying at Sunrise Chalets Kessingland,we ran off to the Newcome Bank to see if there were some decent fish showing as I haven't been out there for a while it was a bit lumpy stayed a couple of hours conditions got a bit worse we had a few Whitings & Dabs but no Cod decided to run inside a bit to the S/holm a few more Whitings and Dabs no Cod Showing on these outer marks yet, last 2hrs fished the Stanford channel loads of good sized Whitings & Dabs with yes you've got it a Cod coming in at just under 4lbs in prime condition well done you two and hope you had a safe journey back to Plymouth and Kingsbridge,
Wednesday Saw the boys from RAF Maraham fished off Corton today as reports were good for that area sat on the church mark till 13.00 with only 1 Cod showing but plenty of Whiting ran inside just off the beach approx. 300-400yds had 9 more Cod all around the 2lb-3lb size they were well pleased,
Thursday went straight to the N/Roads only a few Whiting today but one of them went just over 2lb what a lovely fish we had 4 Cod on the ebb and another 8 on the flood these fish were all around the 2lbish size,
Friday proved to be a change for the worse with only 2 Cod showing from snag ally and only 4 Whiting it was one of the most disappointing days I have endued for a long time considering what the trips had been like this week but that is fishing well done all and see you all again soon,bp

  • 24/11/2013 Fishing Report by Paul Duffield on Nauti One (Portsmouth, Hampshire)

24 Nov 2013 by Paul Duffield

    Report on-board Nauti One

A trip out to try for a few Whiting in the Solent. We travelled out of Portsmouth for a short run down to the Browndown Buoy in the Solent. The idea being to try for some larger Whiting. We caught loads of them and many of them would be keepers (most returned) but the largest was only about 2.5lbs.

We also popped over a couple of large rigs with Cuttle on the off chance for any stray Cod. With the winds from the NE the results weren't to hot on this occassion with about 100 Whiting landed (10 kept for supper!) No Cod but we have had those on board out in the Eastern Solent this year already and will be the subject of reports next week after the Nauti Cod Competition.

    Report on-board Mistress

We only had three people booked on today, so stayed inshore uptiding.

The tides weren't ideal and the water is beginning to clear a little inside.

We weren't disappointed though, between us we managed around 40 cod. The best lad taking 15 himself.
Unfortunately nothing massive to report, the best went to Darren from Lincolnshore with a well conditioned 6lb + Cod

We also caught, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Pouting, Whiting and Ling. The rod tips rattled away all day for us.

Pictured is Darren with is Cod, well done mate!

    Nov 2013 by David Axtell

    Report on-board Seren y Mor

After most of October being blown off the weather has been reasonable this month with a lot of Northerly winds. Fishing has been ok with conger, bull huss and spurdogs making up the catch. Top baits have been mackerel and squid. During the last week whiting have started to show in the bay with some of these going 1lb 8oz, hopefully these will now increase in size and numbers.

  • 29/11/2013 Fishing Report by Rich Ward on Shy-Torque III (Whitby, North Yorkshire)

29 Nov 2013 by Rich Ward

    Report on-board Shy-Torque III

Whilst the boat is high and dry for her maintenance work we have the use of another boat.

Five lads from Southport joined us for a trip off yesterday, which for me was a very pleasant change indeed after over 2 weeks of work on mine in the boatyard!

We had a steady cruise out to the 7 and 9 mile ground where the lads had a picking of codlings pretty much all day. The water is still crystal clear out there and the artificials are still doing the business as well as the baited lures. Best lad taking around 12 codling himself, best weight around 7lb.

The relief boat we have is fuelled and ready to go anytime so keep an eye on the weather and if you fancy a run off from now up until Xmas feel free to give me a ring.

    Cheers
    Rich

  • 26/11/2013 Fishing Report by jon old on High Flyer 2 (Great Yarmouth, Norfolk)

26 Nov 2013 by jon old

    Report on-board High Flyer 2

''The forecast was promising and Cod had been reported being caught, what more could we want. After a short 20 min steam out we dropped anchor at our first mark; it was the last of the ebb and we had to be quick. Out went the rods baited with varieties of choice concoctions and it wasn't long before the first sizable whiting hit the deck, shortly followed by some nice dabs. But where were the cod? the tide had by now gone slack and the boat swung with the wind, it was time to move to a rough ground mark for the start of the flood. After a slow start the first Cod of around three pounds was boated shortly followed by another slightly smaller one, both taken on lug; things were looking up! Anxious to catch one or two more the level of concentration from our small party increased twofold but it was another 30 mins before another two around the same size came aboard. One or two more sizable Whiting and a good Dab were boated before the skipper caught and netted a near 4 pounder, another plump 3 pounder ended the day; we steamed for home, happy with how the day had turned out and started planning our next trip.''
