We have also found some fantastic Blonde Ray fishing on the neap tides which I recommend you come and have a go at!!
This months fish of the month must go to John Ellis with his cracking 18 1/2lb Undulate.
MY DIARY IS NOW OPEN FOR 2011 SO IF YOU FANCY A TRIP WITH A DIFFERENCE THEN GIVE ME A CALL.

Bright sunny day and light winds, First stop was to get some MACKEREL as bait ( and for the BBQ later) The first mark we stopped at was not full of fish, in fact we had one bite. So off we went to a deadcert mark.......... well it should have been a deadcert!!! Off we went again, Third time lucky. As soon as the baits were in we started to get bites, DOGFISH to start then the first of a dozen THORNBACKS and some SMOOTHOUNDS,

Fished with Derek on 22/7/10 moved 3 times and once again he found the fish. We ended up with a mixed bag, including Bass to 10 pound plus, Thornbacks to 10 pound, Smoothounds, Doggies, a Surprise Cod for July, Mackerel, Pout and whiting The afternoon more than made up for the slow start in the morning. Several fish kept for the pot. A 10 pound 3oz Bass ended up whole on a birthday BBQ another Bass and several doggies went in a smoker. (The smoked doggie was very popular!!!) Another great day out and 7 happy anglers. Thanks Derek. Note In spite of quality rag and hermits onboard the Bass all took fresh Mackerel or whole frozen squid. Smoothounds fell to fresh mackerel or squid. You never can be sure what Bait to use.View Boats Page

Summer Bream FishingView Boats Page
The Black Bream fishing has been spasmodic of late with some boats anchored up on the muscle beds reporting good action whilst others in close proximity having poor catches,
The best solution for this scenario is to ensure that you get some big smelly baits down on the seabed as soon as the tide allows, this will produce a good scent trail that will bring various species to your location including your target species the Black Bream,
As soon as you have the Bream feeding beneath the boat they will usually stay put until the tide slackens and then the boat will usually swing away from the mark as the new tide starts to run, If you are not planning on moving location then you would do well to get some more big baits down to get the scent trail working again but make sure your tackle is strong enough to hold a big Conger , Bull Huss or Tope as it is at this state of the tide when they often make an appearance,
Tight Lines ....

August ReportView Boats Page
August has started well with some excellent fish being taken from both the ground and wrecks.
Phill Dollan had three nice fish, a codling of 8.5lb and two Pollock around the 6lb and 7lb mark on daylights baited with mackerel strip off of the ground.
Dan Corford had a codling of 8.5lb and a ling of 12lb,not massive fish but still a good size fish for hard ground fishing.
The Dalston SAC from Carlisle area chartered the boat, the weather was perfect for fishing the wrecks, tried the inshore wrecks which produced the normal small ling and just a few codlings so it was decided to try the wrecks a bit further off.
The extra distance paid dividends as it was not long before the first double figure ling of just under16lb came
Over the side.
Mally Walker was delighted as the biggest ling of the day was around the 6lb to 8lb mark so he thought the sweep for the day was in the bag and his 16lb ling was unbeatable.
With the conditions being perfect it wasn’t long before John Rea was into a big fish which turned out to be a 21lb ling which took two pouting fillets fished on a flowing trace.
So August is off to a good start with some good quality fish being caught off of the ground and wrecks in the first week.
