Additional Description:

Big changes for us this coming year. You may have known Maverick under its previous name of Conway Star, but having now changed port to Beaumaris, i thought a change of name wss called for. A different colour scheme sees the boat with Black sides. Easy all day parking close to Beaumaris pier, from where you will board the boat and we can put to sea in all stages of the tide.
General species fishing is the order of the day for most trips and you can expect to catch many varieties including, Tope, Rays, Wrasse, Pollock, Dogfish, Huss, Whiting, Codling, Dabs, Plaice, Gurnard, Bass and many more. Wales has well over 40 species for you to go at!
If its wreck fishing you’re after then, we can cater for that, with just a little more sailing time, we can be drifting over wrecks for Pollock, or anchor up for a bash at the Conger
If its big fish you’re after then this is the boat for you, having recorded some very large Tope recently, come and get in on the action.
We also have the added advantage of having the Menai Straits, which offers a wide range of species and can really show up some great surprises.
Whether you’re an experienced angler or a novice, you will have an excellent day’s fishing on board Maverick
The expert tuition is free, the Banter is free, the tea and coffee is free, and the fresh air is….?
The boat itself offers a large comfortable deck and is equipped with GPS navigation plotters, Koden colour fish finder, DSC VHF radios. We have all the necessary safety equipment on board, including life rafts, life rings, life jackets, radar reflector, flares, first aid kit and a skipper with over 20 years experience of boat fishing in the waters around Wales and Anglesey. We have a clean toilet on board with access directly from the deck.

About the Skipper:

Dave has been fishing since the age of five and is a self-confessed angling nut. He got into boat fishing over 25 years ago and has skippered his own boats for the last 20 plus years.
He gets just as much enjoyment from seeing others catching fish as he does himself and is always ready to help a fellow angler, should they ask, with advice on baits, rigs and tactics.
He fished often in the highly successful Anglesey boat festival, where he was regularly amongst the prizes, so you could say he has some idea of what he is doing?
Please view our regularly updated calendar for boat availability. We would love to welcome you on board. Please call or email to book either the whole boat or onto one of the individual trips.

What a fantastic day! Three generations of my family ( 8 of us in total) went out with Dave. He was a star - really helpful and patient with the boys (three of them - all aged 10!) Dave guided them on what to do without doing it all for them and they all really responded to this. Everyone on board caught something (mackerel, dogfish, few bull huss, couple of dab and loads of whiting. Dave even organised the weather so that the water was flat. We all had a fantastic day and can't wait to do it all again. This will definitely be a regular trip!! Hot dogs with chilli sauce were a great touch!!

Well it's been a tad windy over the last week, but we've still managed to get out and find shelter on Conway Star. More importantly we've enjoyed some good fishing and lots of laughs along the way. The Tope have been making a show with a 47lber caught on Monday and a 46lber on Saturday, amongst a smattering of small pups. Plenty of runs from other fish, so good action to be had. Plenty of fresh Mackerel about for bait and fish caught over the weekend included, Dogs, Whiting, Gurnard, Tope, Bullhuss, Dabs, Codling and Pollock.

Another lumpy day, with Dave Males and his party. Still plenty of fish caught. Lots of Dogs, Dabs, very sizeable whiting. The codling and Mackerel put in an appearance as well. Best fish of the day went to Graham with a Huss of 11lb. Other Huss went to Phil, Chris and Alan. A great day with plenty of banter and good humoured rivalry.

Another good day on board Conway Star. Lots of fish, with sizeable Dabs and Whiting able to be taken for the Table. Species on the day included Dogfish, Dabs, Whiting, Bull Huss, Codling and a lovely Thornback Ray of 12lb going to Mo. Well fished by the lads on a lumpy day.

Had a great day out with Kev and the guys from Stoke. Plenty of fish coming on board topped by Huss of 13lb and 10lb to David Lowe and Kev Bloor respectively. We had the added attraction of seeing some of the airshow which was going on at Llandudno.
