  Fishing This Week On Spindrift Charters Was Adam Thomas From Emmerdale, Very Enjoyable Day With Adam And His Friends, Lots Of Dog Fish, Huss And Herrings Caught.

  what an excellent start to the year with an abundance of congers on a local wreck in the bay .with the first trip a 5hr night trip 26 congers up to 60lbs second night trip 23 congers up to 40lbs third trip 5 congers up to 20lbs with huss 12lbs dogs whiting and big pouting .so 54 conger caught and [ returned ] in 3 trips and countless lost on the surface which we estimate some of them over 60lb. It is difficult to give a weight on the surface with a torch at night.This picture has 3 conger caught all at the same time.

  THE HOUNDS ARE IN ON SPINDRIFT First trip in may on the smoothhounds and one off the anglers had a hard fight on his hands with this double figure specimen 15lb starry smoothhound

  It's been so long for a report {i'm not one for writing] This year so far has been good like the begining of last year the only problem being the weather .When I have been able to get out to the deeps the fishing has been brilliant spurs huss first tope of the year in march 25lb The best days fishing in the deeps was 63 spurs best ones 16lb the stacks have fished well too plenty of coal fish pollack 2-5 lb and with wrasse up to 3lb . On the mussel beds huss dogs dabs and codling I hope the cod fishing in May and June is as good as it was last year and the smooth hound fishing will soon be upon us I will try to make more effort with my reports and not leave it for so long one off the older Skippers Gareth williams

  April has started off with good fishing had a full boat on saturday sailed from the fish dock at 5.30am to go 19 miles from Holyhead my deckhand made the tea and i set the G.P.S Headed the boat on a W/SW course for 1.5 hrs and spindrift soon made 12-13 knots on a flat calm sea .when we arrived on the G.P.S mark not a boat in site for miles then the fishing was on with a Huss 12lbs first and one-two dogs but one rod on the stern bent over it was the first Tope off the year 20lbs then two spurs 10+12 lbs we had 19 Tope / spurs ?? lost count with Huss we had 4hrs fishing on this mark the tide was runing fast in the last hr but with v good anglers old hands it was no problem at all .we moved in to T Bay fished 1 hr with dogs-huss-small codling- pout went on the drift for 1 hr polack-coalfish-codling up to 3 lbs .
