About the Skipper:

Thrown in at the deep end at just 6 weeks old, our Skipper Dan had been introduced to the sea on the family boat.
Throughout his childhood fishing regularly and catching as many different species of fish as possible, Dan gained experience and a passion for fishing.
Dan purchased his first boat in 2015 - an ex Navy RIB named 'Old Spice' which enabled him to go wreck fishing.
He was hooked!!
In 2021 Dan ordered a new Vigilante 33 from Breaksea Boats.
Blue Strike arrived as a bare hull and has been completely kitted out to how you see her today.
Twin Yanmar 8LV V8's 370hp diesels, full Simrad electronic package. She has all the latest equipment to keep both skipper and anglers content on the water.
Dan has completed all the requirements to become a full time skipper with commercial endorsement to fulfill his ambition of running a fishing charter.

    First trip of the year /2025 with Dan aboard Blue strike A Mair family fishing trip
    Today Mr A Mair family fishing trip / Trophy This family trip is in its second year
    Target fish BLACK SEA BREAM , BASS ,and PLAICE TRIP 8 hours Started with BREAM a bit slow to begin with .
    Skipper DAN spotted gulls feeding some distance off. Which is a great signup rigs and headed towards the feeding gulls Switched over to lures to try for the bas.s Again Dan was spot on after several drifts and chasing gulls (follow the gulls Follow the Fish) a very good stamp of bass to the boat around the 5 lbs range Everyone on the boat had at least 1 bass. Birds dispersed and the bass went as well .Back to bream fishing this time they were on the feed .Pure magic a decent size all, females went back We finished off the day with a couple of drifts for Plaice All target species were caught plus a few others POUT a nice thornback ray. Strap congers and only one dog fish
    The weather stayed kind all day Huge thank you to Dan and Danielle .
    I would recommend a whole days charter Skipper Dan wont let you down

    What an amazing boat she is
    Dan and crew were amazingly helpful and the hospitality shown was amazing
    Dan knows his stuff and tries to put you on fish , even the rigs , rod and bait was supplied with lures and jigs and all that for 100 pound is a very good bargain .
    Targeted species were caught with a bonous of conger eel of 18 kg
    The boat is brand new and has plenty of space , even seating inside the cabin is provided and never I have seen fresh water hose as well salt water hose . It's been really built with luxury in mind

    First trip out on BLUE STRIKE
    Skipper Dan what a great guy very professional knows how to handle a boat in choppy conditions and a heavy sea swell
    Boat what a Beauty ,Spacious ,Fast and very stable
    Best days fishing in a long time Bass Conger whiting pout and the ever present dogfish
    I would certainly recommend Dan and BLUE STRIKE
    I know i definatley will book again
    Looking forward to the next trip
