We run 2 and 3 day trips to France fishing the mid & far channel banks for Turbot & Brill in the Summer months (June-Sep) and when weather permits hitting those offshore wrecks that are just that little too far off to exploit on a days charter trip (Oct - May). These trips offer EXCELLENT value starting at £200 for two 12hr days. Our best 2 day trip in 2018 saw us boat over 100 Turbot & Brill and we averaged over 50 per trip. Whether you want to book the whole boat for your party or come along as a small group or even if you are an individual, you will receive the same warm welcome.
Our aim is to make your trip safe and successful. Whether you are a seasoned expert or a novice it is our job to do the best we can for you...... it's a commitment we take seriously.

Boats and fishing have been a fixture of my life. Learning to sail at the age of 11 racing lasers and 420's moving up to bigger boats and competing in International regattas from Sardinia to Cape Town as professional race crew, culminating in winning the Rolex World Cup. I have several transatlantic crossing under my belt on Superyachts (both sail & power) and have logged over 40,000 miles at sea.
My father taught me to fish and my skills were honed spending summer holidays on my Uncle's charter boat out of Portrush, Northern Ireland. I had the benefit of 40 years charter skipper knowledge handed down and my uncle continues to fish on Brigand regularly. I have fished out of most ports from Folkstone to Weymouth over the last 30 years and have first hand experience of some excellent and some not so excellent skippers, I have learnt something from them all.

Most enjoyable 2 days fishing
Didn’t catch as much as we’d have like but that’s fishing
Skipper Steve did not stop trying to find fish
Was very friendly and knowledgable
Asked what we’d like to catch and done his utmost to
Find the fish.
Great boat plenty of room , plenty of ice for what we did catch
Definitely will be planning a return trip -
paul hardy (17/10/2020)
7 of us went out with Steve, really nice bloke, was a good laugh, really knowledgeable, got us exactly where the banks and wrecks(and fish!) were.
He made sure the novices knew what was going on and we were all looked after (we booked the whole boat so we weren't messing anyones fishing trip up.
Definitely going to book him again, can't wait!!
Good on you Steve, personally my best days fishing this year
Thanks Steve!!Skippers Reponse: Hey Paul, thank you for taking the trouble to post a review. An absolute pleasure sharing the day with you all; great angling, comedy banter and interesting discussion - look forward to getting out with you again.
All the best Paul

Thanks Steve, Great days fishing. The boat was excellent and we had plenty of room. Steve worked hard all day to put us on the fish, Brigand is my No1 choice for a days fishing in Brighton.
Skippers Reponse: Hey Matthew,
A real pleasure having you aboard and thank you for taking the time to leave a review, very much appreciated.
I have a plan for your next trip out - just give me a weeks notice.
Best wishes

I normally do Lure fishing with Brighton Inshore fishing but fancied doing some turbot fishing and Robin Howard recommended Steve who owns and runs Brigand. Due to the weather not playing ball Turbot got cancelled and ended up doing offshore wreck fishing, to tell you the truth I was a bit apprehensive as I have never done this type of fishing but Steve communicated with me throughout from my booking to advising on gear and what not to get. On the day Steve and fellow anglers made sure I had right rigs and if I did’nt have I was given rigs. Steve works hard to put you on the fish ,watching him work shows his passion because he Grafts . I throughly enjoyed myself and will be booking again with Brigand Brighton Charters. Thank you for a wonderful Experience
DannySkippers Reponse: Hi Danny, it was a pleasure having you aboard and thank you for taking the time to post a review. Looking forward to getting you amongst the double figure Pollock as wrecking builds, sure to put a big smile on your face
Best wishes
Steve

Checked the log book on the boat before heading out this morning , last trip...... 19th August!
Arrived back from our annual Norwegian pilgrimage at the end of August hoping to get into some Tuna fishing out of Brighton and build upon last years success but unfortunately weather has put a halt to that. We will be getting into them as soon as conditions permit so standby!
On to today's trip - hit the Offhsore banks looking for Flatties; we have had days where we have boated 40+ this year and days where it has been a real slog to get just a few small ones onbaord, today had all the hallmarks of being one of the poorer days so we decided to sack it early whilst we still had time to get Plan B going which Bass & Squid - and all was well.
A beautiful day with a fantastic crew of high quality individuals made the day fly by. Great to see those lovely Offhsore Squid come aboard along with as many Cuttle as you want so our Offhsore Squid trips have now started
Thanks all for a wonderful day and hope you enjoy your Bass, Squid & Greater Weaver (if you know you know) - a pleasure sharing the day with you all.
Best wishes

Bass fishing out of Brighton today with plenty of good fish for Steve & his crew.
We are starting to do more Bassing out of Brighton and will continue right through into the Winter months when it can be at its best.
We're using a combination of lures and live-baits, both of which were effective today.
If you would like to join us on one of these trips where we are targetting the bigger fish get in touch via WhatsApp 07572065543.

Very foggy out there today so radar nav for the majority of the day..... which was fine.
An absolute abundance of jumbo size mackerel around Offhsore, the Turbot were there but not in the numbers experienced on our last trip and the sizes were generally very small - 13 Turbot, a solitary Brill with only a couple really worth keeping. Andy Austin had the best of the day at around 4lb.
Simon Clark got smashed up by a very big fish (almost certainly a Bass) when we stopped for a couple of drifts on the way back in - no trip complete without a "one that got away" tale!
Fantatsic crew to share the day with, thank you all
Best wishes
