We run 2 and 3 day trips to France fishing the mid & far channel banks for Turbot & Brill in the Summer months (June-Sep) and when weather permits hitting those offshore wrecks that are just that little too far off to exploit on a days charter trip (Oct - May). These trips offer EXCELLENT value starting at £200 for two 12hr days. Our best 2 day trip in 2018 saw us boat over 100 Turbot & Brill and we averaged over 50 per trip. Whether you want to book the whole boat for your party or come along as a small group or even if you are an individual, you will receive the same warm welcome.

Our aim is to make your trip safe and successful. Whether you are a seasoned expert or a novice it is our job to do the best we can for you...... it's a commitment we take seriously.

About the Skipper:

Boats and fishing have been a fixture of my life. Learning to sail at the age of 11 racing lasers and 420's moving up to bigger boats and competing in International regattas from Sardinia to Cape Town as professional race crew, culminating in winning the Rolex World Cup. I have several transatlantic crossing under my belt on Superyachts (both sail & power) and have logged over 40,000 miles at sea.
My father taught me to fish and my skills were honed spending summer holidays on my Uncle's charter boat out of Portrush, Northern Ireland. I had the benefit of 40 years charter skipper knowledge handed down and my uncle continues to fish on Brigand regularly. I have fished out of most ports from Folkstone to Weymouth over the last 30 years and have first hand experience of some excellent and some not so excellent skippers, I have learnt something from them all.

Thanks Steve, Great days fishing. The boat was excellent and we had plenty of room. Steve worked hard all day to put us on the fish, Brigand is my No1 choice for a days fishing in Brighton.

    Skippers Reponse: Hey Matthew,
A real pleasure having you aboard and thank you for taking the time to leave a review, very much appreciated.
I have a plan for your next trip out - just give me a weeks notice.
    Best wishes

I normally do Lure fishing with Brighton Inshore fishing but fancied doing some turbot fishing and Robin Howard recommended Steve who owns and runs Brigand. Due to the weather not playing ball Turbot got cancelled and ended up doing offshore wreck fishing, to tell you the truth I was a bit apprehensive as I have never done this type of fishing but Steve communicated with me throughout from my booking to advising on gear and what not to get. On the day Steve and fellow anglers made sure I had right rigs and if I did’nt have I was given rigs. Steve works hard to put you on the fish ,watching him work shows his passion because he Grafts . I throughly enjoyed myself and will be booking again with Brigand Brighton Charters. Thank you for a wonderful Experience

Thank you very much Steve and the crew for a great day at sea! We've had the best sailing experience ever so far! and regardless how many and what kind of fish we caught - we all felt very well looked after throughout the day and had noted your hard work of trying to locate the fish. Excellent service and support during fishing session, unforgettable sailing thrill in a rough weather conditions on a way back. Your skills are undeniably the world's top class. Highly recommended skipper! Well done Brigand! A+++

Skippers Reponse: Hi Andrew, thank you for taking the time to write and really pleased you had such great time, despite some bumpy conditions! Looking forward to our next trip being a little more calm so we can target those fish in comfort.
    Best wishes

What a brilliant skipper, a great day out with my mates. We caught what we wanted TURBOT & BRILL, as soon as the bait hits the bottom, fish on! I have caught my first whooper 7lb turbot and 6lb brill. We can't recommend him enough! Thank you Steve

Skippers Reponse: Thanks Calvin, pleasure having you aboard - you fished very well for your Turbot and Brill, hope you enjoy them and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Super day out in the Channel again today. Slated as a Turbot day but conditions really not suited. We did have a small window and managed to bag a couple of Flatties off the bank in the hour set aside - the rest of the day was all about wrecking. Some more beautiful Cod and Pollock and decent size Tub and Bass as a bonus.
Great bunch of guys who made the day fly past.

24 Jun 2020 by Steve Green

Yet another stunning day out in the Channel with yet another great bunch of guys.
Nigel Holt was king of wrecks with 7 good Pollock and a Cod to go with his Turbot and Colin topped the Turbot stakes with 3 to go with his Pollock.
We’re spoilt for choice on the fishing front currently and we decided that we would try a bit of Turbot with our wrecking. All target species captured and the Mackerel are also proving much more reliable with strings coming up thick and fast.
A real pleasure fishing with limited numbers and great to see such a great variety of high quality Summer fish.

Fantastic day on the wrecks today with non-stop action from start to finish. Great to see ALL anglers going home with plenty of decent Cod & Pollock.

    Jun 2020 by Steve Green

Well they just keep coming! In the last weeks fishing we have been catching Brill & Turbot on the the offshore banks and Cod and Pollock off of the wrecks. On some days we have had Brill, Turbot, Cod and Pollock all in the same day; a rare treat indeed.
It has not always been the easiest of fishing and we have had to steam quite a way to get the better quality fish but it has been well worth it.
It really is pleasing to see more Cod being caught on the wrecks that we have been fishing and often they outnumber the Pollock.
I don’t anticipate the Cod fishing remaining this good for too much longer so if that’s what you after get in touch.

We are at the cross over period where it’s possible to catch everything from Bream and Plaice inshore to Brill, Tubrbot, Pollock and Cod Offshore - a spectacular time of year and the biggest decision is choosing which to catch...... a wonderful dilemma.
