Had a great year on Dawn Tide Skippered by Mark lots of different species and a few Personal Bests, our Bass season was awesome only keeping permitted amount. Because of Covid Restrictions I often hired the boat or with my friend Andy. Mark always is helpful with rigs or bait suggestions. Finished off the year with 2 nice Skate for the freezer. Looking forward to 2021 fishing .

Skippers Reponse: Thanks colin well done mate You put the effort and the time in and its paid off. I must say it took me a while to shape you up but theres no stopping you on them bass now !!see you 2021

Been fishing with Mark and our regular crew on a monthly basis all seasons for well over ten years now. We wouldn't go with anyone else from the Crouch. A fine young skipper keen to make the day a good one for everyone aboard. I have listened and learned from his knowledge of the Estuary waters. I've met some great long time fishing friends along the way too. See you next month Captain Peters.

A great session aboard the Dawntide 2 with our regular local Skipper Mark Peters. We were out to celebrate our oldest members 75th birthday doing what we enjoy most with lots of banter throughout the day. COLIN aka SANTA also won the Pot for the heaviest catch of the many fish and 7 species caught on the day. All returned safely. BBQ cheeseburgers and Hot Dogs for Lunch and Birthday cake for afternoon tea. A perfect day for Colin. Thanks for everything you do for our crew Mark. Much appreciated.

Skippers Reponse: Top day !!! Thanks

Brilliant days fishing yesterday... Loads of fish caught between the guys... Marks knowledge of everything was A* as usual. If you want a guaranteed great experience, use this charter.

Not a review of a single trip but rather my review of about 2 years of trips! Dawn Tide II is a nice charter boat with a very large fishing area. Next the Skipper, Mark has very good knowledge of the area and has great advice which, if asked, is happy to share. Mark loves to catch fish himself and will always do his utmost to put you on the fish, always willing to move to track them down. I have had some of my best days fishing on Dawn Tide II including.my PB (and boat record ) Smoothound and can thoroughly recommend a trip out with Mark.

The Fishing is finally picking up as expected

Been getting out fairly regularly now and as of Late its really picked up out there.
On most trips we have been Seeing several Rays males & females along with the first of the hounds too biggest going 15lb already great for February on a local mark.

We have been seeing schoolies & the odd Codling aswell but numbers are increasing rapidly on all fronts the whiting are thinning out too.

As we move in to march & spring I suspect it will really kick off mark my words i feel this season is going to begin early!!

Follow me on my social media for regular report’s updates & availability @dawntidecharters

My diary really ramps up up from midd march so booking in advance is recommended

    Recent report

Personally i found the Fishing i the area on the slow side since the bass thinned out in November

I have Been out several times over the last few weeks No big numbers of Codling showing yet just the odd one but don’t rule the Codling out just yet they may move inn the closer we move to spring!

We have had some size rays recently not loads of fish but reasonable ones. The numbers of rays should really start to increase as we move forward from this point.

We Had a few small schoolie bass on the last couple of trips locally but remember its catch a release until 31st march then 2 per angler over 42cm.
The bass fishing should be in full swing once it opens! they haven’t really moved too far this winter so I suspect a early start to the season if it stays mild.

The hounds should start showing locally in march as always & them spurdogs may show offshore around that time too hopefully the spurs move closer inn during April & may like previous seasons.

Basically from now onwards the fishing is going to start picking up with general mixed trips planned along with cod trips, ray trips, hound trips, spurdog trips, & Bass trips all In the diary from now too the end of spring. Then its onto the summer fishing!!!

Looking forward to the season ahead
My diary is looking very busy march onwards

    Dec 2023 by Mark Peters

Well guys that a wrap for the 2023 season aboard Dawn Tide II

Truth be told There is a real lack of decent fish around at the moment.
Basically the summer species have moved off now the Ray numbers we rely on this time of year are down massively & the Cod just haven’t arrived in any numbers just yet so its just whiting dabs or dogs at the moment nit my cup of tea at all.

Out of respect for you guys who fish with me I have taken a decision to postpone all trips from today until the fishing improves.
Im not in the business of just taking your money knowing full well its going to be a tough cold fishless day.
Personally I would rather you saved the money & put it towards the good times when the fishing is better & we all have a good time catching.

Hopefully the Cod start showing towards end of January like last season & the Spurdogs should show further offshore. This should keep us busy through too spring when the rays & hounds should arrive in better numbers in march.
They should be shortly followed by the Bass, Tope & other summer species.

My main concentration as always will be targeting Bass on the lures this has become really popular with my anglers & just seems to get better & better its really taken off big time now days & I can’t wait.

I Just want to say thank you to everyone who continues to support & fish with it me much appreciated thank you

I wish everyone a merry Christmas & a happy new year

Look forward to seeing new & old faces onboard in 2024 the diary is open & its looking to be another crazy busy season.

    Thanks everyone

Heres my 10lb 3oz Bass that was returned to hopefully continue to reproduce)

    Autumn offshore bassing

The autumn Bassing is well underway!
Offshore showing a great stamp of fish around 4-5lb on the lures & worm baits & exceptional numbers showing too! This is fantastic fishing some of the best Bassing you will ever experience in my opinion!

Locally has been productive for Bass at times this is usual for this time of year especially on the bigger lures this is because the bass are shoaling up putting on weight to move off for the winter!

We often come across gannets & gulls diving in the masses during autumn picking off whiting that the bass have worked to the surface its a exciting way to fish among the birds!
lately we have had countless bass for hours up to 7lb all using lures just see my socials for the footage & reports.

I will be targeting bass offshore as much as the forecast allows until end of November then over the winter months hopefully the Codling & Rays will keep us busy

Theres a Handful of walk on availability left on bass trips during November but they are filling best to contact me on 07523488290

    Thanks everyone

    A Quick one

The offshore Bass fishing has started with a bang aboard Dawn Tide II we are seeing plenty coming aboard a decent stamp too!

You have to put in the miles for this fishing & unfortunately it is a little more expensive than a general trip.

But personally i think Its 100% better than scratching around locally for fish that are moving off!

Lures & worms have both been doing the trick, some days lures are better - some days its the worm baits but it all depends on the tides & conditions on the day.
Every day is different out there some will fish better than others there is only one way to find out!

This offshore bass fishing will last until December
Im fully booked until midd November but keep an eye out as i do get the odd reschedule or cancellation
