    Report on-board Shy-Torque III

    Dan, Lawrence, Jacob and Andy, all from Doncaster, joined us on the boat yesterday for our second Uptiding trip of the season.

    We ran to where we had a good result a week last Tuesday and found nothing but Pouting and the odd Dog fish. Not the best of starts!

    Slack water was upon us around 9.30am so we decided to steam across it and try a completely different spot.

    The flood tide was just bending through when we arrived and an odd Codling was coming aboard from the off.
    As the tide strengthened the Codling were starting to feed a little better and the rods were twitching steadily.

    I commented to the lads that this was a lot better and as soon as I’d spoken it went quiet!! Commentators curse!!

    Another short move of just 3/4 of a mile and the lads were taking slightly better Codling. Nothing of any great size but fish to around the 5lb mark.
    We stuck with that spot until the end and we counted around 25 fish to keep with a good number of undersized to go back too.

    The usual Uptiding baits were used. Black lug, squid and crab.

    A lovely day weather wise, some good chitchatting and a few fish each for the guys making for another good day at sea.

    The tides are making fairly heavy for the next few days so fingers crossed for some even better inshore fishing.
