    Report on-board Shy-Torque III

    After a couple of weeks holiday and poor ish weather, getting back to sea yesterday after nearly a month was a great feeling!

    We had a group of 7 lads chartering the boat for the day. Ford from Patrington near Hull and his mates from Batley. They were staying in town the day/night before.

    6 of the group were relatively new to the game and required our full assistance at the start, but soon got into the swing of things and were showing decent signs as was the fishing.

    Sadly, one by one, the younger ones in the group started flayling and the old mal/de-mere kicked in. A big drinking session the day before and no sleep being the main contributor for it!!

    The rest of the lads carrying on with the fishing were doing ok on the Cod and gathered around 30 fish between them before lunchtime. Fish to around 7lb and a couple of double hook ups too.

    A few Mackerel showing up for them too was a bonus.

    When the Southerly breeze pepped up we were drifting at nearly 2 knots and the organiser Ford decided to play the nice card for the poorly ones and called the day just after 12pm.

    A nice few fillets each for the lads and all in all a nice day (morning) out.
