Report on-board Skylark
8hr and 3hr trips today
Fishing started on the first mark we went to and it was steady away all day.
Majority of the fish fell for lures with a good picking of good size Cod and pollock. Overall the lads on the 8hr trip had 50-60 cod and pollock to keep with many smaller size fish returned to fight another day.
As well as the cod and pollock we have also had several ling, whiting, loads of pesky ballen wrasse and a good amount of plump mackerel.
Heaviest fish from the 8hr was a pollock just under 8lb.
With several cod around the 6lb area
We even had a large shark possibly a porbegle due to its size follow a mackerel up surface for a few seconds then disappeared.
The 3hr trip was pretty much the same with us getting the best fish of the trip on the first drop a nice 5lb Pollock.
They also caught many other Pollock and cod, ballen wrasse and dreaded weaver.
And a dozen mackerel enough for everyone busy with plenty of sport and everyone taking a good few fry's home.
Overall for the day the customers caught 10 different fish species.
