    Report on-board Hard Labour

well forecast for today was spot on, shite this morning and improving as the day progressed. 0645 and the crew for the day turned up, a tad earlier than expected but not a problem. Kettle on, tea made and off the moorings by 0700. Just under an hour later we set the pick in a fairly brisk F4-5 NE wind, in 30ft of muddy coloured water.

15 minutes of being tossed around and the first of the target species graced our deck. A roker, all be it a little on the small side, so back over the side it went. Fishing was patchy down to low tide, but the fish were there.

As the flood started we picked up more fish, again in little runs of a couple of fish then nothing for half hour, then another couple would come on etc.

So ended the day, final tally 22 roker, 15 of which the guys kept, 20 or so doggies which i didnt think was too bad, thankfully. The fish came on both squid and herring today, worms were mauled by the whiting and dogs. All in a pretty good day and the guys that were on the boat were a good laugh especially portugese tony ( Absolutely cuckoo).
