Report on-board Cleveland Princess
Antony and his party were on the ball Saturday morning it was nice to get away on time so that we could get the best out of the falling tide with low water around 9.00am on the mark i was hoping for a few fish before slack water, the flood has been fishing very good the last few times ive been in that area so i was pretty confident that we would get a good selection of fish,Bert had the first of many on the boat with Rodger bringing in the best fish of the day a lovely condition 6lb8oz proper Cod the party respected the size limits and put back the fish that i recommended under 4ocms unless they were gut hooked i think this size fish will allow you to get a half pound fillet off each side if you are good with the knife weight wise if you weigh the majority of these 40-44cm fish you will be amazed that they only go about a pound and half to three quarters and haven't had a chance to reach maturity so putting the smaller ones back is a feather in you cap for conservation and the future Cod stocks well done boys have a great xmas and look forward to seeing you all in the new year,BP.
