Report on-board Mistress
The end to the half term holidays finished with two families each with three generations of angler on board Mistress Both regulars with us, we managed put a trip together last minute as a gap in the weather allowed us to get to sea.
It was a very cold, fresh, crisp morning, but by 10am, it was a lovely day with bright sunshine all day, flat seas, what more could you want from a winters day uptiding at whitby . a few fish? yeah we well and truly covered that one too!
With, Andy, Phil & Matthew on one side of the boat, and Rich, Mike, Will & Hanry on the other side, both families set about taking a steady picking of fish all day. It was great to see all the family banter between them all, we only had to move a few times through the day to keep us on the action.
The majority of the fish were all in the 2-3lb bracket, a few smaller and a few bigger. As always I try to encourage putting anything back under 40cm unless its gut hooked, and the lads did a sterling job with the catch and release effort.
With a count up of around 70 codlings for the day the lads were all as pleased as punch with their day at sea. well done men!
