    Report on-board Dawn Venture

the wind continues to play havoc with the fishing and trips to sea have been few............

8th october....mixwed bunch of the glasgow boys and fishing was slow.We did however manage a 30lb tope,a 15lb smoothound,a 5lb starry smoothound a couple of decent huss at 10lb along with loads of mini mackerel, codling, haddock, whiting, doggies and all 3 species of gurnard.we also caught a garfish, something I have never seen in these waters.the pollack fishing in the weeds continues to be excellent with the biggest at 7lb

10th october....the small whiting that have been prolific all summer were absent today and so were the larger predators.the whiting were replaced by a plague of grey gurnards.1 tope at 35lb was caught.the pollack fishing was excellent with Clive catching one over 10lb and lots more in the 5-7lb range

the pollack fishing in september and october has been the best of the season and something to consider for next year

14th october.......only a 2hr trip but managed over 50 codling(just under legal limit, small haddock and whiting and some mackerel along with all 3 species og gurnard, coalies, pollack and pouting
