The weather was slightly drizzly as we left our winter mooring in Chichester Marina but it definitely didn't dampen the spirit to get out and catch some decent fish.

The whiting are in and was a great start to the day getting a few of them in for the lads dinners. The whiting were also accompanied by a couple of nice rays, one small-eyed and one thornback.

On the change of the tide we went out by the Nab Tower off the Isle of Wight to see if we could catch the real target species of the day. Sure enough the best catch of the day was reeled in by Steve Harber who got his prize of a 10lb 5oz cod; he was cuffed and the envy of the boat! All went home smiling as no one was left empty handed.

The cod have arrived so come on lads, lets see if we can beat Steve's catch!

McLaren boys came out today and we decided to go bass hunting. The tide wasn't quite right when they boarded the boat so we went and did a bit of bottom fishing to start with where the boys brang up plaice, squid, cuttle fish and two good sized bream. We then went on to set up all the rods with lures ready for the tide to be just right to fish for the bass. In no longer than 5 minutes of drifting the boys had already caught 5 beautiful keepers for their dinner. The rest of the trip was spent fishing drifting the same piece of ground and the boys went home with a cracking haul from the days fishing with everyone taking home at least 5 bass each.

The bass are definitely in and anyone looking to go can book on the Emma Jayne with various weekend and week day dates available. Lets make the most of this brilliant bass fishing while we can. Call Colin on 07779 654 022 to book.

Fantastic day out plaice fishing on Emma Jayne ( a fantastic stable, fast moving platform ideal for angling) with Colin 'Scooby' Cooter this Saturday. We left Selsey at lunchtime for some mussel grounds near West Head. Drifting back and forth with the flood tide working large ragworm we had a great afternoon's sport catching good size plaice and a few dabs.
