Yesterday’s 5 lads were fairly local to the area.
An enjoyable 3 or 4 hours ground fishing to start the day off with a good number of cod boated on the artificials and the baited rigs.
Vic Brucey taking the best cod of the day at a shade under 8lbs.
A very enjoyable day for one and all.
    Cheers

Yesterday wasn’t quite as good as it has been for the last few trips.
We hunted round similar areas again but the fish weren’t as active.
At the end of the day around 35 fish were boated with the best bag going to Carl from Lincolnshire with around 10 fish.
Baited rigs seemed to be the way.
Cheers and tight lines wherever you’re fishing

Another belting day on the cod yesterday. They’re jumping aboard!
The inshore marks starting to produce more now with fish coming on the shads just over 2 miles from shore!
    Great to see!
The lads boated around 70 fish between them, the best falling to Craig Giddings from Bradford at 10lb.
    Baited rigs also fishing.
    Cheers

Yesterday’s lads were very happy with their catches.
Some lovely cod to just under 12lb and a good number of fish around the 5-6lb Mark.
    Chris taking the best fish
The wrecks and ground offshore are starting to show good signs now. A good few fish taking the artificials too indicating the water is clearing out nicely.
    Cheers and happy fishing

Water still very murky on the more inshore marks so we had a run out to a few wrecks on the 18 mile stream with today’s lads. Olaf’s wreck fishing the best and a few coming off the Competition wreck too.
A lovely picking of cod to 8lb 6oz, pollock to 8lb and ling to 9lb.
Most of the fish taken on the baited rigs with the squid being the favoured bait.
Calendar always fully updated so drop us a line if you fancy a run off.
    Cheers for now,
    Rich

10 May 2021 by Rich Ward

Yesterday’s 5 lads were happy with having a nice day at anchor.
We fished south of the harbour and ended up with around 30 fish for the day.
Best bag was Phil Leake with 10 fish.
Not a hectic day on the fish but enjoyable weather wise. The first day in the last 2 weeks I’ve been able to feel my fingers!!!
Best codling at 5lb fell to Rich from Leeds .
Squid and lugworm as ever doing the job.
    Cheers

8 May 2021 by Rich Ward

Yesterday’s mixed group of lads fancied a run offshore with the weather being so nice.
A slowish start to the day with the breeze stopping the boat on the drift but as the tide turned so did the fishing.
A nice steady couple of hours for the lads with cod to 10lb.
    Bait working the best again.
Paul from Bridlington with the best fish on the day.
    Cheers

A good bag of fillets for them to take home for the table.
    Baited shads fishing the best!

2 May 2021 by Rich Ward

Yesterday’s lads decided to chuck some extra in the pot to cover the fuel and chose to do a run to the wall.
Perfect (calm before the storm) weather, with hardly a breath, made for perfect fishing.
    Good choice!
Steady to start but the fishing got better as the day progressed and the 6 lads ended up with around 60 fish between them.
Cod to just over 7lb and a nice ling of 12lb 4oz.
The shad fished well, but the baited rigs attracted the bigger fish.
John Moore with the best fish of the day.
    Cheers for now

Whitby’s first competition of the year finished yesterday.
A tough event this year with strong Northerly winds muckying the water up at the start. Still, we persevered on the days we went and managed a reasonable picking some of the days.
Chris Siddle from Hull dropped on the winning fish on the Shy-Torque III with a ling of 9lb 3oz.
Not a big fish by any stretch but big enough to win him a very nice £500.00! Well done to him.
Chris is pictured with his winning fish.
Our next competition starts on June 26th and runs for 3 weeks inclusive. If you fancy a run out, drop me a line.
    Cheers for now.
