    An uptide and casting away from the boat competition produced 12 different species which included plenty of Tope along with Rays,Gurnards,Smooth Hounds,Brill,Turbot,Mackerel etc.Stephan Attwood won the competition with a credible 212 points.Trevor Cozens from Peterborough landed two Blonde Rays weighing 20Ib 12oz and 22Ib 7oz(pictured) with bigger one breaking his Personal Best record. The rays were caught aboard Flamer IV at anchor on a bank. Trevor was using an uptide rod with a flowing trace and a pennel rig of Sakuma Stinger size 6/0 and 4/0 hooks.Both Rays were released alive.

    Hi, all, The latest Wreck Trip produced some good size Pollack with many in double figures the best being caught by Phil Harrison which weighed 12Ib 8oz (pictured).Also some Bass were caught with David Hawker catching the biggest which weighed 7Ib 8oz. The majoirity of the fish came on Bubble Gum Pink Red Gills.

    Hi, all, During September the Plaice fishing has been excellent with lots of Personal Bests being broken.
    Pictured is Jim Stone has who at last landed his first 5Ib plus Plaice after 25 years of trying and getting plenty of Plaice just under 5Ib."Congratulations Jim".
    The Black Bream fishing has also been very good.The Ray fishing just continues to be excellent as it has been all year, I have never known so many Undualte Rays to be caught in one year before, "Just Amazing". Tope,Bull Huss, Congers on the reefs have also provided good sport.Wreck trips have produced Pollack,Bass,Ling and Congers. And of course the Porebeagle Shark that a Belgium gentlemen caught, If you have not already seen it check out the Shark video on http://www.deepsea.co.uk/england/south-west/weymouth/flameriv/

    With October approaching fast we can expect similar fishing during the month. Here are some dates with places available which includes some weekend dates - DON'T MISS OUT

    The latest BIG PLAICE competition on Flamer IV was won by 57 year old Danny Curtis from Bournemouth with a 6Ib Plaice(pictured) and new Personal Best for Danny.Danny was using 8Ib class tackle with a short trace that had lots of coloured attractor beads on with a size 2/0 Sakuma Stinger hook baited with ragworm and squid strip. Several 4Ib plus Plaice were caught in the competition. These BIG PLAICE competitions have proved so popular that I have put up three dates in 2015.

    September 2014 - The Plaice fishing has been superb with some excellent size fish in the 4 to 6Ib bracket regularly being caught.Lots of anglers are setting and breaking their personal bests all the time.Pictured is such an angler with a new PB, Ian Nash landed a 6Ib Plaice to beat his previous best by 1Ib.

    AUGUST 2014 - Reg Phillips and friends from Sussex did a 5 day Angling Break and enjoyed some wonderfu flatty and ray fishing. They had some superb Plaice with plenty of fish in 4 to 5Ib plus bracket.On the Ray front they caught several Blonde Rays up to 18Ib 8oz and Undulate Rays to 12Ib. Reg himself landed the best specimen of the trip with a Brill weighing 7Ib 8oz (pictured).

    ANGLING BREAKS - A few days away fishing out of Weymouth along with the social side is a nice trip to do.The variety of fishing and the amount of different species caught at Weymouth is probably second to none.I am now taking bookings for such trips in 2015.     HI, Gary Bowdenham age 54 won the Flamer IV Big Plaice competition with a Personal best Plaice weighing 6Ib 2oz.(pictured) Gary was using 8Ib class tackle with a single hook trace that had plenty of coloured attractor beads on. The successful bait was ragworm and a strip of Ammo squid on a size 2/0 Sakuma stinger hook. Gary's Plaice was just one of many big Plaice caught during the competition with plenty of 4 and 5Ib Plus Plaice caught with many being returned alive.

    The Ray fishing has been superb all year and the latest session fishing for them was no exception. Mark Cook from Devon landed two Undulate Rays which were the first of this species he had ever caught and has a new PB of 11Ib now.Trevor Cozens form Peterborough landed his Personal Best Blonde Ray weighing in at 20Ib(pictured) Trevor also landed a 12Ib Undulate Ray. Kevin Clark from Plymouth caught a 14Ib 2oz Blonde Ray which is his new Personal Best. The successful bait for all the rays was cocktails of Ammo Squid and Mackerel presented on pennel rigs of 6/0 and 4/o Sakuma stinger hooks. All the Rays were returned alive.

    JULY 2104 - what a month, lovely weather and good fishing.Some excellent Plaice have been caught just like the two pictured, Rob Burgin and Steve Perkins caught these two big Plaice weighing 5Ib 8oz and 6Ib with in two minutes of the first drift on their latest trip on Flamer IV. The big Plaice fell to big ragworm and Ammo squid strip baits presented on two hook flatty traces that had lots of coloured attractor beads on and small silver blades and size 2/0 Sakuma stinger hooks.

    JULY 2014 - Some good size Plaice have been caught on Flamer IV recently with lots Personal Best being set and broken. Trevor Madden broke his Personal Best by 6oz with a 5Ib 8oz Plaice.Trevor was using 8Ib class tackle with a short single hook trace and size 2/0 Sakuma stinger Hook,the trace had lots of coloured attractor beads on. The successful bait was ragworm and a strip of Ammo squid.
