    APRIL 2011 - "GRAND SLAM" - The spring flatty fishing has continued to be good over the last few days and was proved when Colin Jones did a Grand Slam which means he caught Brill,Turbot and Plaice all during the same trip.First Colin caught a Brill which incedently was the first Brill to be caught on Flamer IV this year then he caught a Turbot followed up by several plaice.Well done Colin a Grand Slam is something that is not that easy to acheive.Colin deservedly won a Flamer 4 Fishing cap for his fishing achievment.Colin is pictured with the 5Ib Brill he caught.

    APRIL 2011 - SUPER TED - Ted Llewellyn age 59 had a super days flatty fishing with his mates and members of the Three G's S.A.C. not only did he catch more flatty's than any one else he also broke the clubs plaice record by over 2Ib with a plaice weighing 5Ib 1oz.The successful bait for the record plaice was ragworm tipped with Ammo squid strip.Only one of the group failed to catch a plaice or a turbot on the first day of their two day charter on Flamer IV.Ted is pictured with his club record plaice catch.

    APRIL 2011 - THE HEAVY WEIGHTS MOVE IN.I must just mention that three of my regular anglers/customers,Paul Milkins,Trevor Curtis and Russell Salmon were all fishing on the back of Flamer IV and collectively they weighed 65 stone.However in the heavy weight fish stakes Russell Salmon came out trumps when he landed an 18Ib Turbot.Russell was using 20Ib class tackle and the successful bait was a fillet of Ammo mackerel.Paul and Trevor also both caught a turbot each but no were near as big as Russell's large flatty.Russell from Somerset had caught very little on his previous trips this year but his patience and persaverance was rewarded.Russell is pictured with his 18 pounder.

    APRIL 2011 - FLATTY'S R'US - The Spring run of plaice and turbot has really kicked off now with some excellent results of late.Self confessed Turbot virgin Ian Pratt from Wales is a virgin no more.In successive drifts on the Famous Shambles Bank he caught turbot of 7Ib and 13Ib and was overjoyed with his catch.Ian was using 20Ib class tackle with a flowing trace and the successful bait was a strip of Ammo mackerel.Ian is pictured with his 13 pounder.On the same trip Robert Clowes and his mate Richard from Staffordshire had more than their share of plaice and turbot and realy enjoyed their first experience of flatty fishing out of Weymouth on Flamer IV.

    FLAMER IV - MARCH REPORT - during the month an array of trips were done including inshore reefs and banks,mussel beds and offshore wrecks.The inshore reefs and banks produced smooth hounds,rays,congers,pouts,dogfish and spurdog.Plaice up to 4Ib plus turned up on the mussel beds and the Shambles Bank.Turbot have also appeared on the Shambles Bank along with mackerel and sandeels.The offshore wrecking was ok most of the time for pollack and the occassional ling and cod.16 different species have been caught on Flamer IV so far in 2011.Flamer IV Fish of the Month Winner for March is Phil Harrison with his 13Ib 12oz Pollack (pictured).The New Flamer IV has been approved by all who have been on her so far.

    FLAMER 4 FISHING NEWS - March has seen plenty of pollack along with some ling and early cod on the the offshore wrecks being caught on mainly sidewinder lures.The reefs and banks fishing at anchor has seen species like conger,rays,smooth hounds,spurdog etc being caught.The spring flatty fishing for plaice and turbot has now got going so if you want to catch a big plaice and turbot then book your place/s now,Don't MIss Out.Pictured is Jason Hart from Portland,Dorset with a 4Ib 2oz plaice,Jason caught two 4 pounders in as many drifts.Jason was using 10Ib class tackle with a trace that had a silver vibro spoon and attractor beads on.The successful bait was ragworm tipped with squid strip.

    FLAMER IV - The first trip aboard the New Flamer IV was a wrecking trip which saw several good size pollack caught along with ling,cod and some monster pouts.Robin Amor caught the first fish to be landed on Flamer IV which was a mackerel.Bill Oliver and Mick Nunn caught more than their fair share of good fish using flying collar rigs and white sidewinder lures.Mick Nunn is pictured with his pollack of the day which weighed in at 14Ib 8oz.Mick is also proudly wearing his new Flamer 4 Fishing cap,Every one aboard said how pleased they were with the New Flamer IV and how spacious she was and well kitted out to suit their angling needs.

    The NEW FLAMER IV was launched on February 28th 2011 and sits proudly on my mooring.There are a few jobs to finish off to get her fit for service.I am sure you will all find her a impressive and spacious boat.I will start using her for trips from the middle of March.I will post some good pictures of her at sea soon.In the mean time here is a stern picture of the new Flamer IV on her mooring.     FLAMER III Report - January and February has seen some wrecking and inshore trips done.The inshore fishing on the reefs and banks produced congers,whiting,bull huss,Smooth Hounds,Pouts and dogs.The offshore wrecking saw some good pollack fishing on most of the trips with the pollack coming on a varierty of lures.One such trip saw Colin Jones form Cheltenham land several pollack up to 14Ib,Colin is pictured with his 14 pounder.On the same trip Phil Harrison and Matt Rees also landed several pollack with all Phil's fish coming on a pink and orange jelly worm and Matt's fish being caught on a small rhubarb and custard sidewinder.Matt also landed a small cod on the same lure.10 different species have been landed on Flamer III so far in 2011.

    Flamer Fish of the Month - January - Trevor Lockyer 12Ib 12oz Pollack,
    February - Colin Jones 14Ib Pollack.

    NEWS - The New Flamer IV is due to be launched in the next week with Flamer III going to her new home in Wales.

    FLAMER III DECEMBER report - The weather was very wintery to say the least with snow,ice,wind and freezing cold conditions hampering trips.The few that were done produced some excellent whiting up to 4Ib along with the rays,conger,cod,pollack and the usual dogs and pouts.Flamer Fish of the Month for December was awarded to Phil Oaten with his personal best Cod weighing 12Ib which he caught on light tackle and a whiting rig baited with Ammo squid and mackerel strips.Phil was over the moon with his Cod catch and is pictured with it.55 different species wre caught on Flamer III during 2010.Flamer Fish of the year for 2010 was the 7Ib 2oz plaice caught by Mike Sheridan,Runner Up was Dave Barton with a 19Ib 8oz spurdog and third place was a 7Ib plaice caught by Dave Metcalf.Most unusual species was a Greater Pipe Fish caught by Rod Adamson.Best fish caught by a lady was a 20Ib cod caught by Jenny Foley.
