The plaice fishing last week was absolutely brilliant with over 200 caught in 3 sessions, although mainly on the small to medium size they give a good sport on the right gear add in Dabs, Gurnards, Red Mullet, Garfish, Smoothhounds it all adds up to great days fishing. Whiting are starting to appear in numbers and after the run of Codling we have had the bigger fish will soon be here. Some good size Bass have been landed. Most of our fishing once November starts will be concentrated on Cod and Whiting so if you fancy a day afloat call to reserve a space.

The fishing on the banks and wrecks is really good with plenty of good size Ray's and Congers being landed along with some stonking 5lb + bream. Big Bass have featured in catches with some trips landing several doubles which to the credit of anglers have been returned alive.

Sept has been a great month with lots of species and quality fish, several of our trips have been fishing along the piers which has produced good numbers of plaice, gurnards, small bream and the odd cod to 8lb further off to sea Ray's , congers and bull huss have been prolific and as a bonus we have also landed brill and turbot. Trigger fishing has slowed up towards the end of the month but did give some great days fishing. When the weather has been challenging we have reverted to the harbour which gives plenty of sport with wrasse, plaice, garfish, bass, bream and gurnards.
Last Friday the Police SAC fish their boat championship from Poole 16 boats and 120+ anglers took part, the Mistress Linda as reigning top boat had to pull out the stops against some very good boats and skippers to retain her crown which when the scores were in we achieved 1st 2nd and 4th place for the anglers. Now is the time to start thinking about the winter cod fishing so book early and get the best tides.
We are taking bookings for next year charter or individual so if you would like to join us next year please email me.

    Sept
This month has started well with a good run of quality Trigger fish being caught, the inshore drift fishing has seen good catches of Gurnard (Tub, Red, a Grey and the odd Streaked) and Plaice. On the outer marks during the weaker tides there has been plenty of action with Rays, Congers, Tope and Bull Huss all fighting to grab the bait whilst off to sea on the wrecks and banks big Black and Red Bream are being landed with fish in the region of 5lb + showing. Grab your chance before the season finishes and come out fishing with us.

    Inshore Fishing
The fishing along the beaches this last few days has been extraordinary in the amount of quality fish being caught, Trigger fish are the target species and they have shown in good numbers along with these we have landed Cod and Bass to 6lb, Rays to 13lb and plenty of Plaice, Bream, Gurnards all to good size along with the usual mini species. Many drops have seen good quality doubles but the highlight of these was Sam Burrows with a Cod on the top hook and a Sole of 2lb on the bottom hook caught in bright sunshine. All have been caught on very light gear which has tested the angler and gear and proved great fun.

This weekend saw the Mistress Linda enter party mode on Saturday with a family who were out to celebrate their sons birthday, it was well organised by his girlfriend Olivia. The group enjoyed a bit of fishing catching plenty of mackeral before heading into Studland for a swim and to top up their tans. During the swimming the proud parents and I discussed holiday destinations and the local scenery whilst ensuring all in the water were safe. It was a really relaxing and enjoyable day.
Oh how hard it is to be a charter skipper on days like that

    July Report
The offshore fishing certainly excelled with good catches of Cod, Pollack and Ling given the opportunity to anchor these marks big congers and some good size Bream came aboard. The banks around Poole produced a good selection of Rays, plenty of sport with Tope and general fishing. Bass still have yet to appear in numbers but now the mackeral and Scad shoals have arrived these should show up, just a reminder anglers are restricted to 3 bass per person. Locally we have had plenty of fun with small bream, plaice, gurnards and mini species these provide a good days fishing and can be a lifeline when conditions are not favourable. Poole Harbour is fishing well and acts as a safe haven for charter boats , using really light gear you will be surprised by the amount and number of different species caught each trip.
    Come and enjoy the fishing

This week has seen both extremes of fishing with the weather on Monday keeping the Mistress Linda in Poole harbour catching many mini species and a few nice Plaice to midweek which a charter of young lads had me doubting my sanity before the trip but to be honest they were excellent company and great to have onboard they did get a bit excited catching mackeral in numbers making me work hard unhooking and untangling. The Tope were absent in big numbers on our planned day but we did catch a few and swopped a few fishy stories. The weekend offshore trips have produced some cracking numbers of Cod and Pollack no big fish best around the 10lb mark but great sport on light gear, because the fishing was so good we decided to have an hour on your oldest most knackered lure ( an idea given to me by a well respected local skipper) this proved a great laugh and still produced fish.
Come and join us aboard for a trip either inshore or offshore before the best of the fishing declines.
    All the best

Due to the recent strong winds recently we have fished Poole Harbour and the Swash channel, during this time we have great fun catching a total of 27 different species ranging from blenny's to small Tope. This is good practice for any competition angler but can be frustrating for a beginner as the fish are well practiced at stealing the bait. The Ray fishing is still producing cracking fish with the best Undulate of 18lb 3ozs being caught on a spinning rod at slack water last week.
