This is an update of the last few trips, Saturday 4th was not the best of days bit of ground swell so didnt get out to far only to the south holm but plenty of nice sized Whiting ran back to the stanford channel around 1400 to see if there were a few dabs around this area we only had 4 the Whiting were hitting the baits before the dabs had a chance to,Monday 6th and a much better day so it was out to some ground that we only go to when conditions are good enough as its a bit of a ride some 14 plus miles the back of the cross sands and the dredging area, at this time of the year it is a good bet that Cod come into feed up before spawning but it wasnt to be after 3hrs and not a bite it was back inside a bit to the pickle but much the same in there so another move to outside of the whisler a result 1 dab so over the bank and off corton where the fishing was very good we anchored on the Tick its a mark we use in there as its allways give up some fish and it didnt disapoint plenty of nice Whiting and a few decent dabs,we summed it up that youve got to go and try these areas when conditions are good enough as we might not get another chance for a while with these easterlys that will be with us now for a few days or could be weeks.

Its getting embarrassing that ive got to keep catching a Cod when i take fishing partys out to do that job only joking,we are getting the odd decent fish at the moment with some lovely sized Whiting yesterday the best 41cms a good pound and half fish,we keep plugging away and getting out to our better marks with this cold snap that weve got it should bring the sea temp down to allow the Cod to come and feed inside so that you get a chance of some decent fish, the one i got yesterday just touched 7lb i am sure there will be a run very shortly so dont give up,BP.for a trip out call 07771926590.

Still plenty of good sized Whiting and they are roed up now, Saturdays Boys had over 100 fish with some 38cms amongst them as the conditions were not the best we fished off the bank in Corton roads they were coming thick and fast right through the tide well done Andy look forward to seeing you all on the 30th lets hope the conditions are good enough to get to some of our better marks and thanks for the Lug that you left me,we went on Monday as it was flat calm i ran out to one of favorate marks on the xxxxx we can only get there when we get a good forecast this mark has prodused some lovely Cod and it didnt let us down today with some decent Whiting coming in from the start we thought it would be all we were going to get a few Spottys were nicking the bait as well,i was in the gally makeing a cupper when Paul shouted out that i had got a slack liner and it was he had allready picked the rod up for me and started catching the fish up when i took over it was giving a good acount of its self in the 3 knot tide as i got it nearer the boat it was staying deep as well so we new it was a decent fish we finally got it in the net and on the scales 9lb on the nose and in very good condition and when gutted there was nothing in its gut if these fish are now on the way in they will be hungry so dont miss the chance of a PB big baits get plenty of scent in the water,BP.

After a few days away it was back to fishing, with the party on the boat by 8.00am and my grand son as co pilot it was off to the newcom bank as i had herd it had started to fish again and my information source was not wrong, not great numbers of fish but the fish we did catch were in very good condition,we finished up with 3 nice sized rooker and 5 big hounds with one fish being lost dont know what it was but i am sure it was a big hound or may have been a tope as it broke us off could not do any thing with it i think it had made its mind up that it was not coming to the boat, well done all and hope you enjoy your fish at The Sailors Home Kessingland tonight,Brian.

Plenty of summer fish now showing with the best so far is a 15lb8oz Blond that Martin added to his trophy collection, dont miss the chance of some lovely Rooker for your table and some other species that are around at the moment with 3 trips last week and were all different as the tides increased the fishing slowed up which is unusual for this time of the year its a funny old game just cant put your finger on it.BP.
