    10 hour Wrecking Trip Yesterday.

only 5 lads booked on so i decided to have a go myself,

Fishing started of great with some nice size Cod taking the shads, then after an hour the wind and tide increased and fishing slowed down and became hard work.

then after a couple of hours the fishing picked up a bit with a few more cod, ling and some massive whiting.

from the forecast the day before we were all prepared for a massive downpour which never came. and we had sunshine most of the day and a calm sea.

4 hour Wrecking Trip joint with the Queensferry

today we had the lads from fussy engineering, their were 19 anglers fishing from the skylark and the Queensferry.

we steamed together to a wreck a few miles from Scarborough and shared the wreck with the Queensferry to allow the lads to have a bit of good banter between the boats.

sea conditions were slightly unsettled with a very few of the lads suffering from sea sickness

we managed to get a good amount of cod in a short space of time and a few small ling. one lad even managed to get a brace of pesky pouting.

    3 Hour Wrecking Trip

Fishing the inshore wrecks off burniston
(Only a half hour steam from Scarborough)

From the Start we managed to board some nice cod around the 3 to 5 1/2 lb mark, some blegs and whitting everyone managed to catch something which was great.

then in the last half hour over slack water we managed to get a couple of ling around 5lb.

great to see a better stamp of fish coming aboard and signs the wrecks are starting to hold a bit of fish already.

Had no Booking today So i decided to have a go for a couple of hours on the N E Corner, just off Marine Drive.

From the moment i got anchored and wet a line i got bites strait away and had my first fish out in less than 3 minutes not a massive cod but one ideal for the pan. re baited up and same again. had 5 fish out in the first hour then as the tide increased a bit more the fishing slowed down with hooks been stripped by crabs. i managed to get 3 crabs to the surface before they decided to let go of the bait.

managed to get another two cod out when the crabs decided to leave the bait alone long enough for a cod to sniff it out.

then when i decided i had enough for a couple of frys i wound in and found a dab layed on.

what a cracking few hours fishing .

3 hour trip and a double figure Cod!!!

water had turned back to soup after the short blow we had last week.
so it was back to bait fishing at anchor again.

a few minutes after dropping the anchor into the rough ground off Burniston one of the lads get a tiny rattle and wound in a tadpole fish. the first one we have seen this year, then after returning the fish to fight another day his rod just bent over double and when he lifted the rod he got a good nod on the rod. when he got the fish to the surface he couldn't believe his eyes his first ever cod and one weighing just less than 12 lb. at this point the other customers just couldn't understand why they hadn't even had a bite at this point.

then after half an hour a few more bites developed into smaller cod around the 3 lb mark, a lessor spotted dogfish (5th One we have had this year) and a few blegs.

It’s amazing what a bit of calm weather and warmer temperatures can do for the fishing. The fishing inshore around Filey has been phenomenal with some of the best cod fishing we have had this year.
with one lad managing to bag ten good size cod.

not as many Pollock caught today but there were alot more cod caught.
All the fish were taken on lures, jellies, feathers and Muppets.

    What a fantastic weekend.

We have many spaces still available on 3 to 10 hour trips wrecking and inshore rough ground fishing this June.
