    6 Hour Wrecking trip.

we traveled to the wrecks between 5-7 mile off Scarborough and had more of a species hunt than a big fish hunt.

    Cod
    Pollock
    Coalfish
    whiting
    Herring
    Ling
    Pouting
    and a Butter fish.

nothing massive apart from some big 1 1/2 lb whiting

one lad managed to get 5 different species out of the list.

we didn't have any bookings for this afternoon so we decided to have a go anyway.

one of the customers from the 3 hour trip joined us for a relaxing fishing trip.

we steamed to Filey Brigg in unsettled weather and braved the south easterly wind which was uncomfortable.
fishing at anchor with the boat lifting and rolling we managed to get a few nice cod around the 2-3lb mark.

apart from the wind we had lovely sunshine throughout the day.

a Nice days fishing with a good set of lads.

set off at 9.30 with unpleasant sea conditions and rain headed south to a wreck 5 mile from Scarborough, then we headed further south to wrecks a bit further off and we managed to get a fish nothing big but enough to keep us busy we managed to get a few ling and i got a nice Pollock on a shad then the sea deteriorated a bit more so we decided to have a go fishing in ravenscar.

we were greeted by a small pod of porpoises which were feeding with their calf nearby. fishing started slow as the tide was hardy through, then as the tide picked up we all managed to get a few nibbles and a few fish. we were plagued with small lobsters but we were still managing to pick up a few fish around the 2-3 lb mark and a plump lessor spotted dog fish. then a few seals came in to see what we were doing and the fishing slowed down again.

unfortunately one of the anglers just couldn't seam to get a bite never mind a fish.

so as fishing slowed we decided to give cloughton a go, with in minutes the poor lad who just couldn't understand his luck and managed to wind two cod in one after the other.

by this point the weather picked up and the sea flattened off and we had a nice steam back.

    Cracking days fishing again today.

Fishing at Anchor with bait again fishing started for Dave Tyson as soon as he put his first bait into the water, he seamed to be using the best bait as he was the only catching for the first 30 mins. then as a bit more tide came through other on the boat started to catching mops around 2-4lb. A few hours in Nick managed to hook into a better fish weighing just under 8 lb. at this point poor Ken was looking at everyone else winding up fish around him. then as the tide eased we moved off to another mark to gain some more tide. Again Dave found the fish with a few others then a fresh Northerly breeze came through and unsettled the sea conditions then finally Ken Managed to hook into a cod just Over 8lb then on his second drop a smaller cod. by this time the sea had got too rough for the other competitors in the smaller boats and a radio message went out to finish the match early.

we were fishing the Scarborough Boat Angling Clubs Tea Pot Challenge match and managed to get 1st, 3rd, and several other places in the top 10.

Well Done to all Who fished the match as the conditions were far from perfect.

    Cracking days fishing today.

with in the first 1/2 hour we had 4 fish aboard and Chris Darke boarded a 11lb 8oz Cod. then as the tide slowed down fishing slowed down so we made a move to another mark a bit further out where the tide was spot on. we managed to board a few more fish then the tide became to strong with 1lb sinkers struggling to hold the bottom so we moved further inshore. this seamed the best spot for the day and several more cod where taken including a 13lb 11oz cod caught by the skipper.

we were fishing the Scarborough Boat Angling Clubs Nbby Llyod match and managed to get 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th and 7th, out of 17 anglers who fished the match.

Well Done to all Who fished the match as the conditions were far from perfect.

Not A Bad days Winter fishing.

set off at 11 am in glorious sunshine and the sea was like glass. when we got to our first mark of the day and dropped anchor we were greeted by a couple of porpoises passing. fishing was slow to start with then Owen got the first cod of the day, a 2 lb Cod which he decided to return back.

As fishing was slow we decided to move to another spot and we managed to get a few more Cod out all around 3 lb.

Dave Shaw managed to catch his first Codling which was just over 3lb.

it would of been nice to get a few more fish but it was a brilliant day to be out fishing as the weather was great and the company was even better, a great set of lads to fish with.

looking forward in taking you all out again

    Nick
