It's great to be back out at sea with passengers again.

Today started off just like yesterday with us coming across a pod of dolphins shortly after leaving the harbour.

Fishing today seamed to start like a dream with codling coming over the sides of the boat constantly for a good 45 mins. Unfortunately, it didn't last, and as the tide eased, so did the fishing with us having to keep moving to keep finding the tide and the odd codling.

At the end of the day, the anglers had some good sport on light tackle,

Heaviest fish today was a codling weighing 4lb 6oz.

We have seen a few different species over the weekend codling, pouting, lesser spotted dogfish, a sea scorpion, and a dab.

Over the weekend, the wildlife has been stunning with gannets already gliding about, razorbills and guilimots, and kittiwakes buzzing about.

This is a really good sign that summer will soon be here

A short video of today's trip which was similar to yesterday's

Every mark we went to today produced a good few fish then seamed to dry up so we did steam about abit today following the tide to maximise fishing for the lads.

As you can see from the short video they had a good mixed bag of really clean fish in fact only 1 codling we had to day was a local kelp cod.

Species wise we had a nice mix of codling, pollock, pouting, dogfish, and ballen wrasse today

Not the best of conditions today with the wind and rain.

On the trip we did see see a good amount of wildlife with a lonely half black beaked puffin following us around for a bit. a few gannets still showing, two bottle nose dolphins, several seals and even a Peregrine Falcon hunting a poor bird which we couldn't Id as it was frantically trying to get away and it did.

Photos of today's better catches on our winter uptiding trip

Overal everybody on the boat caught a cod to keep which in it self is a massive bonus some of them up until the last hour really struggled but managed to be kept busy catching other species like dogfish, ballen wrasse, pouting and even a whiting.

Best bait today seamed to be dirty squid fished on its own which was slightly unusual as normally tipping off normally gives it a slight advantage.

Noticed today when gutting the fish they are slowly getting small roes forming so hopefully we shouldn't be far away from those better fish which come in the winter months.

Some photos and report from todays 8hr and 3hr fishing trips.

    8 Hour

As we were catching bait we had a pod if bottlenose dolphins come and feed around us this morning.

Then when we got a few mackerel, sandeel and herring we headed offside and worked a a few wrecks

The lads caught a good amount of Cod and strappy ling and we headed further out again and managed to get a 16lb 3oz ling.

As the winds wipped up not as bad as yesterday we ran back inshore again and fished the more inshore wrecks.

Overall the lads managed to catch 11 species and the trip with one customer catching 7 himself

Dab, weaver, whiting, mackerel, sandeel ,herring, pouting, coalfish, pollock, cod and ling

Back out again for a 3 Hour trip

Mainly new anglers on this trip they all caught plenty of plump mackerel.

A few caught some sandeels, herring codling, and a cracking 9lb pollock for this Young Lady

    Seamed like a perfect morning

Picked some mackerel up on the way out got to the first wreck and the first drift produced a few strappy ling and small codling then 2nd drift it was like fishing 20 years ago with some really nice fish coming up.

After a good hour or so fishing slowed down so we ventured to the next wreck and then the winds picked up making drifts difficult for anglers but they still got a few fish.

Then the south easterly came through and pretty much doomed the trip, fishing became hard the sea just built up so we kept plodding on taking the odd fish each drift.

Overall the lads had some cracking fillets to take home and plenty of mackerel

And the Ling from this morning is a new PB for the angler and the boat weighing 24lb 9oz (at 126cm long).
