3 hour mackerel fishing trips from portrush
Mackerel are found in great numbers in northern irish waters in the summer months.

We take out hundreds of people boat angling from portrush harbour each summer.

We start catching mackerel in late april and were still catching them in late September and some of them are huge!

They can be caught on feather lures and they even take whole fish bait when we are fishing for bass as the picture shows!

They are related to tuna fish, so large ones will give a really strong fight!

Mackerel are very tasty to eat and also make good bait for larger species such as cod, pollock or sea bass.

The british record for a Mackerel is 6lb 2oz which was caught in 1984, at over 6lb thats one large fish! The biggest we have ever caught was over 2lb.

these are super fishing trips to take beginners and children out on. the excitement of hitting a line full of mackerel is priceless and will stay with them for years to come.

many of our now 'serious' anglers started fishing mackerel with us, seems they caught the fishing bug!

a 3 hour mackerel fishing trip onto the Portrush or Portstewart sandbanks, including the rod and reel hire, all tackle and bait is £15.00 for adults and £10.00 for children (up to 16).

all fishing tuition and guidance is gladly given free of charge.
