Charter Boat: Portskerra Charters
Boat and Skipper Details
Portskerra Charters offers fishing trips and wildlife tours out of Portskerra, 18 miles west of Thurso.
FISHING TRIPS
As Portskerra is a tidal cove, we tend to do 4 hour fishing trips. Start times vary with the tide, but on request we can accommodate alternative durations. The surrounding waters are rich with many species of fish - Cod, Haddock, Pollack, Spur Dog, Rays, but to name a few.
WILDLIFE TRIPS
A few miles east of Portskerra is a well known breeding ground for puffins, guillemots, and fulmars. If you are lucky you may see passing Whales and Dolphins as they migrate.

I went with my two eldest boys and they loved it. Davey was superb with them. We caught lots of fish and will be coming back. I loved watching the puffins and David identifying each bird species and giving a description of its character. Fantastic value for money and the highlight of our holiday. We caught:
Cod
Haddock
Mackerel
Flounder
Dog fish
Gudgeon
Ling
The boys cooked their catch and have been eating fish every day since. -

Just back in from a good trip out with the better half, 7 species today and saw a pod of dolphins heading west. The puffin have returned and feeding well along with gannets diving for fish. Bay busying with gillimots . Good to be out with lots to see .

First trip out for the year, with Andy and Frank. Great day and a few haddock about. Weather was ideal with light winds. First of many.
