Went out for an evening trip with Kurt on Yellowfin and despite the weather forecast, Kurt convinced us that the fishing would be good. And how right he was !!! In about three hours on an inshore mark we had 15 bass, 40 odd large mackeral, a few bream and a plaice. Kurt is the man and I recommend him to anybody who wants a great fishing experience with a skipper who knows his onions and is thoroughly likeable as well (which is rare). Cheers Kurt !
Another good day, six of us fished and all caught.
This was the second time we chartered YELLOWFIN for a corporate day out and on both occasions we could not fault the service provided by the skipper, Kurt. In September last year, even though the weather conditions were poor, Kurt did his best to ensure a full day of fishing and minimise crew seasickness. On the recent day, we had perfectly blue skies and we commenced with a few drifts over a wreck. Although we caught a couple of cod (circa 10 lbs) it was clear that the fish weren't biting in numbers, so Kurt moved to another location where we anchored and fished for conger and bream. After a couple of narrow misses and some mackerel, we relocated to another wreck. The final two hours were manic with all members of the party, some of whom had never previously held a rod, catching several fine cod. The day was a huge success, thanks mainly to the un-ceasing efforts of Kurt to move location in an attempt to provide good fishing and his patience in assisting the novices. We will certainly be re-booking for later this year.
