Another fantastic fishing trip on board Brigand. Great fishing with 60 cod caught, most of them keepers, with 6 for myself. Great and funny stories told throughout the day along with plenty of tea and coffee, and the legendary chicken curry and rice. Plenty of help and assistance from Kev on baiting up and casting, then the filleting of the cod so its ready to take home. Looking forward to my next trip and highly recommend booking on Brigand. Thanks Again Kev.

Skippers Reponse: Thanks for the review Ste, hope to see you again soon.
    Cheers Kev

Another fabulous days fishing with Kev aboard Brigand - 67 keeper Cod!! Great set of lads, fantastic fishing, decent weather, brilliant curry from the skipper... what more could a man wish for? Ok, perhaps there is one or two other things, but you ain't gonna get them in the middle of the Mersey :) Good to see you again Kev - looking forward to the trip on 29th December... Cheers!

Skippers Reponse: Thanks for the review Nick, it was a good day on the Mersey. See you on the 29th!!!

First time out boat fishing, and it will not be my last!! I was a bit apprehensive about it being my first trip and not knowing anything but Kev soon put me at ease and had me baited up and fishing. His help, advice and knowledge throughout the day was unbelievable and his guidance was very much appreciated. I caught 7 codling, 6 of which were keepers, 1 thornback ray and 3 whiting, and the rest of the boat were all catching too. The chicken curry and continuous tea and coffee kept us all going through the day and the banter on board was great. I will be booking again soon without a doubt and cannot wait to get on board Brigand again. Thanks a lot Kev!

Skippers Reponse: I am so glad you enjoyed your first boat fishing trip onboard my boat. Think it's safe to say you are hooked now ha ha, looking forward to seeing you onboard again soon. Thanks for the review.

At 55 years of age and never fished since i was child, this was a great way to enjoy my first fishing trip on the River Mersey courtesy of Brigand Charters and Skipper Kevin Mckie.. It was a fantastic day and even though Kev baited my rod and cast out for me, I took great pleasure in reeling in 8 cod 1 dab 1 whiting +1 ray. There was 7 of us on the boat and Kev could not do enough for us all to make sure we enjoyed our day out. Food and beverages where provided for us and you have to taste the Chicken curry that Kevs Dad made, it was the best i have ever tasted. I am hoping to go out again with Brigand charters in the near future and can highly recommened them to anyone thinking of having a great day day fishing on the Mersey.

Skippers Reponse: Thanks for the review Peter, hope to see you on brigand again soon.

The River is fishing its nuts off", said Kev (the skipper) as i boarded 'Brigand' at 4am this morning... And he wasnt wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were on the first mark for 5am and although things started very slowly with just Dogfish devouring our baits in the darkness, the onset of dawn saw the Doggies dwindle and the coddos come out to play... I was first to set the bar with a nice 2lb 9oz Codling: More similar fish came to the boat within the next hour or so before Wayne hit the jackpot and landed what we all hoped for in the form of a cracking Cod of 7lb 6oz: Well done Wayne.. an exceptional fish mate!!! Although the good fish we hoped for had come earlyish into the trip everyone continued to work hard at it and fair play to one and all, we were rewarded for our efforts.... everyone of us managed to contact takeable codling, in fact we managed to land a total of 26 keepers and a good amount of fish barely legal... very few were actually undersized and the majority were over 2.5lb with half a dozen at least being over 3lb.. We even managed a new PB for a member, well done Kim! As anticipated the leaderboard changed a little once we headed for a new mark on the flood to target the Rays... but even here we kept in touch with the Codling and enjoyed some good Whiting too , a large percentage of fish to over 1lb 4oz. As expected, it wasnt long before the first Thornie showed itself to the squid baits and like an early horse in the National, yours truly landed a fish of 7lb 15oz very early on that held the biggest fish for the entire tide...... only to be pipped at the post and pushed into 2nd place with only 10 minutes to go!! ........... and get this.. by my own son Dylan!!! ....... in the dying moments, the laddo sneaked in a beautiful 9lb 3oz Thornie to take the poll position and show us all how it was done... WELL DONE SON PROUD OF YA... despite wanting to strangle ya! HAHAHAHA Right on the back of it Donna landed a nice Ray for her Species Hunt.. And during the tide most of us contacted one or two of them to add extra sport.... Thinking everything was sewn up, Sonny suprises us all and keeps us on our toes with a nice Ray which rewarded him with 3rd Place for a very close 7lb 10oz, hard earned and fully deserved by Sonny.. To be honest, once the fish started it was fairly steady going.... and i think we'd all agree that today was a cracking day out.... great company, a good crack, and once again a top skipper who knows exactly what he's doing... Thanks Kev for a cracker!! Not to mention that bang tidy curry that you laid on today.... that was mint mate! This group pic was taken near the end of the trip and to be honest we had gutted most of what we had caught.. To top it off...... the Buccs kicked ass today.. we had a blinder!!

Skippers Reponse: Thanks for the review everyone, hope to see you all onboard again soon.

My first experience onboard Brigand was in late June of this year and since then iv been on a further 4 fishing trips and 3 more booked for the Mersey from now til January....THAT JUST SAYS IT ALL! Kevin is a highly skilled skipper with exellent knowlage, knows where the fish are. Kevin does not stop all through the trip by helping out to all anglers especially to the less experience that requires it sometimes (including myself). ie tips, baiting up, rigs. nice hot meal combined with the kettle on the go constant with endless tea coffees. my last trip on the Brigand saw me land Codos to 2lb 4 Rays to 8lb 4. the odd Dab. few good Whiting oh and them Dogies :-) Nice one Kev. top man. see you yet again on sunday 16th Nov..i cant wait :-),

Skippers Reponse: Thanks for the review Alan, see you on Sunday.
    Cheers Kev
