Report on-board Skylark
What a completely different day today was to yesterday the sea was like glass most of the day with hardly any wind.
We started off anchoring as the tide was at its strongest and strait away we had the rods bouncing with codling and pouting steadily coming over the rail.
We didn't see the dogfish at all and had a smaller stamp of cod showing around the 2 to 3lb area with 1 cod about 5lb
Fishing slowed down halfway through the trip so we ran offside to catch the slacker part of the tide and first few drifts were pretty much blanks just the odd pouting coming up then after a few drifts in we started seeing more codling.
Best fish of the day was a 9lb 4oz cod.
Water clarity off at a mile was quite surprising and we also managed to get a few fresh mackerel aswel which is probably the latest I've ever seen them caught.View Boats Page
