    Report on-board Hurricane

At last the fish have returned to the estuary now all the years of disturbance have stopped.
The main reason is the shrimps have returned and the fish are having a great time feeding up.
The good news is there are good catches of codling along with lots of thornbacks big whiting dabs and the return of the pouting.
I had a trip today on a very small tide of 4.7m usually not a good omen but i managed to find a good bag of fish for my customers.
We had 15 thornies 12 nice codling 1 massive tub gurnard loads whiting up to 2lb plus and some nice dabs and the welcome return of the humble pouting which tells me that the eco system is good.
Oh nearly forgot the usual spooy dogs .
All in all a brilliant day and a very happy bunch of lads .
And to top the day a large pod of pilot whales were in the area and a couple of the local boats escorted these away from the shipping lanes and the coastguard issued a radio warning to shipping.
All in all it seems that everything is getting in on the abundance of food in the estuary and it can only be good.
What a welcome releif us skippers have struggled for long enough.
