    Report on-board Malaki

Fishing Report by Stuart Cross on Malaki 20/4/16

The voices in my head forced me to go fishing again {medication not working] Me , my dad and mate Basher had a day on Malaki with Barry Handley. It was a cracking day - great weather and great fishing . We went straight out on the 40 mile wrecks picking up a few good table size Pollack on the first couple.
We then moved to one that had mainly low doubles on it. A very small tide so I opted for my fast retrieve reel- bingo 9 pollock to 16lb most of them doubles. My dad was on a slow retrieve reel – 2 pollock – rubbish whooped his arse ! We both lost a couple that just kept going with rods bent double- bugger! Basher had 5, all good fish biggest 14lb I think.
After my dad and mini me beating me on the last two trips it was time for pay back- whose the daddy!! Just a quick piece of advice, if your fishing sidewinders and your having a friendly competition a packet of wine gums will help, cut all different colours into small pieces, match the colour to the lure and place on your mates hook point it’s a darstadly plan but very effective!
When they say the fish are finicky, make sure you keep a straight face 40 miles is too far to swim.
    Thanks Barry laughed all day.
