My first trip of 2021 was the Sakuma/Flamer IV Fish of the Month 2020 winners final.
In breezy North to North Easterly winds causing a choppy sea we fished in shelter of the land.
The fishing was steady most of the day with 9 different species being caught which were Whiting, Congers, Undulate Ray, Thornback Ray, Blonde Ray, Starry Smooth Hounds, Bull Huss and the usual Pouts and Dogfish.
Ian Youngs had the best fish of the day, with a 14Ib Undulate Ray (pictured)
The score sheet was close with only an 18 point difference between 4th and 1st place.
Winner was Paul Milkins 147 points, Runner Up was Kevin Clark 135 points.
A Big Thank you to Sakuma for sponsoring the monthly prizes and goodie bags for the final.
The anglers also got the Flamer IV fish of the Month badges awarded to them.

The last trip of 2020 saw plenty of action with numerous Congers, Spurdogs, Whiting, Small Eyed Rays, Blonde Rays, Thornback Rays and the usual Dogfish. Squid and Mackerel baits proved to be most successful.

70 year old Ian is wearing the blue coat and Sakuma cap in the picture as he needed a bit of help holding up the lively spurdog.

Lets hope all this Covid - 19 situation can be sorted asap in 2021.

Happy New Year to you all.

Thanks for your continued support, All The Best, Colin, Flamer IV

A nice trip fishing at anchor on two Bank marks to the east of Weymouth. Just as we had started fishing on the first mark lots of common dolphins came to join us, a lovely sight.
Over the next few hours the anglers caught several Spurdogs in the 12Ib to 15Ib 8oz range along with Tope, Bull Huss, Blonde Rays, Spotted Rays, Small Eyed Rays, Congers, Whiting and the usual Dogfish.
Squid and Mackerel cocktail baits being the most successful.

Lots of trips cancelled during the last month due to the awful windy weather and now "Lock Down" imminent. "Not good". Oh well as long as we all come through this covid - 19 pandemic alive that will be a result.

So at present all trips in November are cancelled. I am now gong to have Flamer IV lifted out of the water later this week for maintenance and her 5 year survey which will mean I will now be available for trips in December.

Should all be good after the Lock Down and I know if we are ok to go back out fishing and under what restrictions I will inform you all.

Note: My Bookings diary/schedules on all my web sites are done through until early November 2021. The proposed itinerary's are not set in stone and can be changed subject to the tides.

Did two competitions over two days which were a Specie/Hunt competition and a Big Fish competition which both produced a variety of different species big and small ie Tope, Congers, Black Bream, Bull Huss, various Rays and Wrasse, Tom Pot Blenny's, Gurnards, Scad, Mackerel, Pout, Dogfish, Smooth Hounds etc.
Day 1 - Species/Hunt competition - The Winner was Jamie Nash with 222 points and Runner Up was Stephan Attwood with 216 points.
Day 2 - Big Fish competition - The Winner was Pedro Abreu with 243 points and Runner up was Jamie Nash with 221 points.
Incidentally Pedro was on his first ever trip on Flamer IV and did extremely well catching some good fish and had several on the score sheet before any one else despite his disability of having no fingers and only a thumb on his right hand. Just "Brilliant " I thought , Well Done "Team Pedro".

Pictured is Pedro's friend Mehboob with his 10Ib 2oz Small Eyed Ray.
