Well over the last couple of weeks the fishing has picked up dramatically, the inshore reeds are starting to produce a good number of fish upto the 3lb Mark and on light tackle its always a good sporting day.

As we saw the fishing in 2012 the amount of Codling around broken ground has been tremendous, if this is anything to look at we hope to have as good of a year on the wrecks for Cod as we did back then with the boat record at 1540lb of fish in a single day !

The first Mackerel of the year came over the gunnels this last week which means the we will be starting to run 20-30 miles down the coast in search of Bass, Bream and Turbot in this next for weeks.

There are still a splattering of these trips available through to when the bass finish in late November there after we will be talking to many of the club's that fish with us annually to offer trips in the Liverpool Mersey for the winter Cod uptiding season where we will be based until April.

The Smooth-hounds are also starting to make an appearance in Holyhead Bay and with them being so close you barely manage to get up to our 16knt cruise speed by the time your there, most of our fishing for Smoothies will be done on 4 hour eveing trips offered @£20 including bait and tackle this is a great sport with tackle spinning rods in 40ft of water !!!!

We have space available Wrecking for Pollack and Cod on the 12/13th June

    Tight lines

Well where to start, 2014 has seen our original boat being sold to a new home in Ireland and the new vessel Bad boyz 2 has proved to be a superb boat this last weekend in the rough seas and a fantastic turn of speed cursing @16.5knts with 11 on board.

The fishing has got off to a slow start but this is mostly due to not being able to get offshore or even to the south side of the island.

There are Plenty of nice Bull Huss inshore to 14lb, this last weekend saw us having to take shelter around Holyhead Bay due to the weather blowing hard from the south.
11 species were caught including the first Gurnard of the year and maybe 60/70 codling which is a great sign for the wrecks, maybe live eels will pick a few better ones up inshore.

Bad weather again for the next few days so most trips have been cancelled once again, Hopefully we will be able toget offshore later on this month to try the wrecks for Cod and Pollack.

    Tight lines,

    Aaron

Bad Boyz is now out of the water for the next two weeks having her annual paint up ready for the 2014 season.

Fishing this year has been very patchy at times but plenty of Dogs, Whitting, Dabs, Huss and a few rays at anchor along with The usual congers around the wrecks to 40+lb unfortunately due to the wether we haven't managed to get out to a few of the offshore conger wrecks that are only known to bad boyz for the bigger and better fighting fish.

Wrecking trips are few and far between with dates being booked up for other types of trips but there are still a few available to head off for the Pollack and cod, don't take your time in booking these trips as they are growing ever more popular aboard bad boyz being the only vessel on the west coast of Anglesey fishing them.

    Tight lines for 2014

Well 2014 hasn't started off the best with horrendous winds and floods but on the off occasion in the late 2013 we managed I few short trips hear and there.

Fishing has been hectic at times but mainly due to the amount of Whitings about ranging from 1oz - 2lb and providing a good plate of fish for tea.
There are still the odd Rays around but nothing to target and obviously the usually suspects Dabs, Dogs, Huss, Codlings, Poutings and Poorcod.

This next couple of months will see the increase in conger action around the wrecks but will the weather drop to allow us to get out and explore ?

Happy New Year from all of us @anglesey charter fishing

    Bring on 2014

Winter months and dropping temperatures are closing in fast now but luckily they are bringing the fish with them.

There plenty of whiteing around with many reaching the 1-2lb mark which makes a fine eating fish, along with the huge shoals of whiteing the Rays have also made a show with 30-40 rays coming from the shallow waters daily rangeing from 5-15lb and is making great winter sport on light tackle.

Still a few weekends available before the new year, come along and sample some great light tackle sport.

Fishing around Holyhead over the last few weeks has been quite hard to say the least, where fish usually come up in reasonable numbers many drifts have produced fish, but you have to work at it, usually pollack, coalie, gurnard, wrasse, the odd garfish, codling, and mackeral.
I have noticed since the hot weather has arrived and the sea has become flat calm, the fish seem to have gone to deeper water to avoid the heat, we need a good blow to get things back on track.
Saying that, yesterday was a better day, since the weather altered, we had quite a lot of fish around the Stacks Reefs more than before with catches of pollack, mackeral, and at anchor at the reef six ling up to 6lb and two strap conger more pollack, five huss to10 lb not to mention the usually doggies so things are starting to look up at last.
The high tides are now on the drop so the Tope and Spur dog tides are coming up over the next few weeks.

Thanks Guys for a fanatastic day! We chartered the boat for a 10hr trip 2 weeks ago and could not have wished for a more perfect day weather wise, the sea was as flat as a mill pond, and the weather was fantastic. All of us returned with sunburned foreheads!!
And the fishing was pretty good too. There were only 7 of us that made the trip, but all of us caught fish and 5 of us all caught fish over 10lb. 3 Tope, 18, 28 and 45lb. At least half a dozen spurdog over and around 10lb, and a few Bull Huss again getting on for double figures.
This was the best boat I have ever chartered, and I can definitely recommend this boat to anyone with all levels of experience from novices to hardened pro's

    Brillinat - thanks again guys!!
