Well that's us all finished on the Mersey, our first season has been much better than expected with 51 trips booked, sailing on 47 of those.
We are heading home a bit early however with the fishing being hard work on the River I'd rather get my anglers on the spurdogs back home.

We've had some good days afloat especially early on in the season with countless rays coming over the rails and nice quantity of Cod.
Our best fish went 14lb is still currently the heaviest Of The season.

We will be back from Liverpool mid October so get your trips booked In if you'd like the reasonable start times, A number of them are already gone!

Another week of trips completed on the River Mersey, fishing has been very up and down to day the least, our best day bringing 15 Cod to the boat with plagues of whiting to 3lb.

As the week progressed so did the amount of snow and rain, this had a missive effect on the Cod fishing thanks to all the freshwater running through, meant we had a Cod Black on Friday!

Saturday I decided to target the whitings as the crew wanted a good feed, see tallied over 500 whitings and dabs to 2 1/2lb along with 4 Cod to 2lb, 6 stone tub filled with quality fish for the table.

Hopefully the rain eases this week ready for us to start back on the 23rd.

I have spaces available 24th/26th/27th for anyone wanting to take a brake from the festive period!

Another 9 days afloat from Liverpool done and dusted.

Fishing has been very up and down with frantic hours here and there, The whiting fishing has been superb with many fish going 2 1/2lb + making a superb eating fish.
The Cod however have been very hit and miss, our best day tallied 19 fish to 8lb 4oz with most days being 5-10 Cod and the odd day with poor weather bringing a lesser haul.

This year is fully booked however if any anglers want to fish the larger tides there are days I can accomadate you.

Hopefully this current spell of cold weather will move a higher quantity of Cod into the River.

If you want a chance to get afloat please call or message to book.

    Nov 2017 by Aaron Smith

That's a wrap on our second week afloat on the River Mersey, fishing has certainly slowed as the rays ease off and we await the arrival od larger numbers of Cod.

Our best day this week settled on 12 Cod to 8lb, 30 rays to 11lb, whiting to 2lb and the usually dogs, dabs.

Saturday we hosted George and his crew's from Liverpool who have fished with us for many year's from Holyhead, We had a great day afloat under a winters sun. They boated 13 Cod to 8lb, 25 Rays, Plaice to 2 1/2lb, Dabs, Conger, Whiting, Pouting and Flounder. Already looming forward to there next outing on January.

As with all fishing, everyday was different, some fairly slow days in general with hectic short burst of fish, Fingers crossed next weeks tides should roll a few more Cod Into the River.

Best fish of the week was a tough one, the plump 2 1/2lb Plaice was up there however it was only to be outdone by our first double figure Mersey Cod at 10lb 1oz with Mike T coming a close second with a Cod of 9lb 10oz.

Most this year is now full, I still have dates available for January and February if you'd like to get afloat.

    Tight lines, Aaron

    Nov 2017 by Aaron Smith

So that's our first week completed here at Liverpool fishing the famous River Mersey.

We've had some lovely catches including Cod to 8lb 6oz, Thornback Rays to 12lb and a new boat record whiting of 2lb 1oz along with dogs, Whitting, dabs, plaice and pouting.

Our best day afloat we landed 12 Cod, 45 Rays along with the usual dogs and Whittings.

The fishing has changed day to day along with Baits, most days 3-4 Lug tipped of with squid has done the trick, Peeler crab for catching one day and then a Cod a chuck the next.

Around the slack water periods we have been targeting the Whittings and dabs which have been exceptionally thick on Plukington bank in some 15-25ft of water, a 2lb Whitting sure scraps in the shallow water.

So we close our week out, 48 Cod landed, everyone over 2 1/2lb, stopped counting at 150 rays, hundreds of not thousands of Whittings, certainly not a bad week at all!

Well we back on the go from Thursday 9th where the cod will only get better!

If you want to get out please get it sorted asap as we only have a few midweek spaces left now.
