So yesterday's trip ended fairly well, unfortunately the deeps didn't go to plan as we arrived 1:15hr before slack water only to find the tide had already turned so we only got a short period before it was to strong to fish.

    Species ended in -

Whiting, Dogs, Huss, Dabs, Pouting, Poorcod and Conger @14 1/2lb & 19lb

Fish coming to the boat throughout the day, fast action on the inshore mud banks although slightly slower on the rough ground areas.

Picture's will be up soon as I can

So out today, loads of herrings around this morning on the drift with a single pollack followed by hundreds of whitings at anchor on the banks with plenty of nice size fish going for the pan.
Slack we moved out north but unfortunately had to return to shelter due to the wind before the tide got anywhere near slack so half a dozen huss and Spurdog there, back inshore came came plenty more Whittings and dogs as the sun set....

Weather's is perfect for tomorrow if anyone wants an outing!!!!

Report from a recent wrecking trip.

The lads wanted to be back by a certain time so we gave them options of a shorter trip out to deeper wrecks or to try some wrecks that we normally fish late May early June before the temps warm up down deep.

On arrival at the first wreck some 18 miles south the sounder showed a good patch of fish but after the first few drifts this soon played out to be fish in the 2-5lb range bit exactly what we were looking for sooo I quick discussion over a fresh breakfast butty we turned the boat headed west and powered the boat up to speed for 45 minutes out to the deep waters.

A few wrecks targeted and soon we had a large quantity of fish to the boat in the 8-12lb range.......can we say business as usual?

We got the lads back to the mariner for 6pm so they could make there journey back home and full of fresh hotpot from the steam back to port.

Thanks again to Swan Fishing Club, see you next time

Another good general and deeps day, started the morning off drifting close to north stacks in search of the stunning Cuckoo Wrasse and found them we did, 17 to be exact along with countless Ballans, Pollack and a few Mackeral thrown in..... A few more drifts around the fangs to try for some larger ballans then a quick one for a few more mackeral before heading out past Holyhead deeps to our chosen anchor mark for the day.

Anchors down we didn't have to wait long for the first bit of action, a steady stream of Bull huss around the 10-12lb mark, once the tide eased the Tope came out to play... A few snap off's before we managed to get one on the boat all be it only a small one around 8lb but it was the start of a mad hour, 10 tope, countless Bull huss later and a few more snap off's and was times to call lines in.

Anchors up, hotpot dished out and steamed back in from a good days fishing - PICTURES TO FOLLOW

So species picked up over the last two weeks -

Tope, Spurdogs, Bull huss, Starry Smooth-hound, Common smooth-hound, Thornback ray, Spotted ray, Dog fish, Whitting, Pouting, Poorcod, Dab, Plaice, Turbot, Mackeral, Pollack, Cod, Coalie, Ballen wrasse, Cuckoo wrasse, Tub gurnard, Red gurnard, Grey gurnard, L/S sea scorpion, Dragonet, Goby - not bad for minimal scratching!

Fishing as a whole is doing very well at the moment with the wrecks producing huge numbers of big pollack and caernarfon bay showing loads of Skate and a good few tope....thankfully due to the weather being fairly kind we've only had to spend 2 days around the bay over the last 20 days which showed a few nice smoothies and a good few Pollack to 3.5lb along with some beautiful cuckoo wrasse drifting close to north stacks.

Our dairy is now open for 2017 as ever we already have a few club bookings for wrecking trips so please to avoid disappointment get your dates sorted ASAP!!!

Caernarfon banks tomorrow and then back out to the wrecks to finish the neaps off until Monday........lets pray for the weather

Ok so here we are, pictures from the last few days out on the wrecks with some great anglers having superb fishing!

Pollack to 16 lb 8 oz
    Cod to 5 lb
    Coalie to 4 lb
    Pouting to 2lb

Some wrecks have fished better than others along with certain wrecks producing the larger fish in the deeper waters of 300 - 350 ft, hard work when you swap on to 2 or 3 hooks and end up pulling up two pollack over 10lb at a time which has happened three times this week so far

Out again over the next few days and back out to the wrecks ready to make the most the last few neap tides, trying a few new things as well which is always worth a shot as you just never know..........

so want a chance at catching some of the biggest pollack around ? The wrecks we have access to are well proven in landing some of the biggest Pollack around north wales....don't miss your chance to smash your PB and fill up your freezer there's not many dates left for this season
