Bad boyz 2 takes overall fish of the month on Charter Boats UK with the fantastic Welsh record braking Spurdog landed at 21lb 6oz!

This was the first of a long stream of 100 + Spurdogs over the last 2 weeks to hit the back of our net including 4 within 1lb of the current record and this 1 smashing it.

So we're well into July, our wrecking season so far has been far from successful thanks to the lovely low after low after low through the back end of June and continuing so far...... We did however make it out through the rear of May and start of June to large hauls of Pollack & Coalie to sub 10lb.

This Weekend see's the small tides return for around a week, there's the wrecks we went hunting for back in march/april that I believe to be unfished in over a decade that I still haven't made it too with a group of anglers....could this week be the week?? Fingers, toes, sidewinders crossed

Could it be Pollack..... Cod..... Coalie...... Ling that is the question that only a nice high pressure can answer!!

Another break in the weather which means another chance to head south...... What more do I need to say?
Enough mackeral coming in for bait and for the table which is always a big bonus.
    30 Skate to 9lb
    10 Spurdogs to 18lb 8oz
    9 Huss to 14lb
    1 3lb turbot
1 small tope, Pollack to 5lb, Grey/Red Gurnards, Doggies, Mackeral and Launce
Not a bad species count considering the guys were fishing tope traces most the day other than a short spell for mackeral at the start and half an hour on a wreck for Pollack at the end.

Once again Bad Boyz 2 using her speed to get to new grounds and the only boat from Anglesey fishing these areas so don't miss your chance on a day of fantastic fishing -

Well another good haul of fish yesterday thanks to the weather man being wrong once again.....Surprise surprise there!!

Ian and his crew's first out on board Bad Boyz 2 and decided on a Caernarfon bay trip which this time of year can fish very well indeed although small fish was not on the days menu.

The trip was extended to stay out longer as we were on some superb sport with a shoal of large spurdogs which the crew had never caught before so it was a shame to leave when there was a bucket of prime fresh mackerel just sat there from earlier on in the day.

Totally for the day was around 35 Spurs 7 over 15lb biggest 19lb 6oz, 10 thornbacks, 1 tope, 13 huss + mackerel, dogs, red/grey/tub gurnards.

So in 4 days we've smashed the Welsh record Spurdogs with a fish of 21lb 6oz and had another at 19lb 6oz which is 6oz short not a bad week at all....

Fishing this last week aaboard Bad Boyz 2 has seen some fantastic fishing out in the deeper waters off holyhead deeps along with the first wrecking trip of 2016.....

    So what's coming up?

Holyhead deeps on Sunday alone produced 50+ spurdog to 19lb6oz / 10 tope to 27lb and 70+ bullhuss to 14lb along with a thronback Ray of 6lb which was a welcome surprise.

A few inshore 4hr trips recently finally saw the first mackerel of the season boated although it was only a lonely 8! Shallow reefs are producing small numbers of wrasse, pollack, coalfish and codling on the drift up to 3lb.

The first wrecking trip of the yesterday... We don't usually start till early June but a few regulars wanted to try there luck so a trip was out together to see what we could find!
6 wrecks 100 miles later and smiles all round with the amount of Pollack coming to the boat nothing of much size mostly 3-6lb but for so early on it was a great day all round ( one could say perfect pan size fillets )

So another couple of weeks and the channel wrecks should really be coming Into there own with the large hard fighting Pollack we all love to catch.

With our main Wrecking season fast approaching we have finally managed to get the boat out of the water to have annual re paint along with a few new touches to the vessel and her new 3D Sounder tech which I'm really looking forward to having a play with on the wrecks in 300 to 400ft of water.

Fishing at the moment had been steady in shore with plenty of Huss, Dogs, Whittings, Codling, Dabs a few Thornies and some Coalies / Pollack last week inshore and when the weather has been kind and allowed us to venture out a bit the shoals of Spurdog have been in abundance.

Don't miss you chance to get out to some of the best wrecks of our coastline and try beat the boat record Pollack of 17lb 2oz from 2015.
