Trip number 3 of 2015 and trip 26 with Bad Boys overall for me took place on July 10th.

We had 2 novices o board with us this time and as the photo shows even a complete novice can grab a great fish when the skipper is prepared to work hard for you.

Not happy with the idea of sitting on a rock or trolling round the bay, Mel got us out to the mark he had selected by letting the engines open up and showing us what the new boat can do. Its quick, bloody quick to be honest and I cannot wait till August and our wrecking trip to really see what she can do.

    Anyway

Brews, butties, and biccies were forced fed down our throats whilst at anchor and waiting for the fish to bite, a nervous hour or so passed before anything other than a doggie decided to bite but when the smoothies arrived they arrived in a pack and gave almost non stop action for a couple of hours.

Following lunch we ventured to the frifting marks which very strangely produced bugger all worth mentioning as far as eating fish goes but some very nice wrasse were boated and returned with just a few Pollock going home for the pot.

Fish of the day as mentioned went to the newbie.

5th June saw the first planned trip of the year on my personal favourite boat. 7 of us went in search of smoothies and Pollock and were not disappointed in what we found.

The smoothies ranged up to the 12lb mark and were great sport on lighter gear, what's more everyone on the boat enjoyed the fight with all 7 rods connecting at least twice with the fish that must be the most fun you can have on mid range gear.

Following on from the smoothie fun and having been refreshed by breakfast baps and brews we went on the drift at various locations both to the se and w of Holyhead.

As usual we were kept on the fish pretty much all day and easily hit the 100 takers mark. that said we returned far more than we kept as we want to get them again when they get bigger.

A top day out with great lads and a great skipper with plenty of fish going back.

    Need I say more.

The photo btw is the first ever fish of any description caught by the lad holding it. I wonder why he wants to come again. LOL

Aaron kindly posted on Facebook that he had spaces available so after a quickish grovel to my beloved wife and a few phone calls I managed to fill two of them and get my first boat trip of the year with the best boat in north wales.

Max was the other rod who did everything he could to disprove the "Anyone Can Fish" sticker that adorns the wheelhouse wall. This was his first trip this decade so whilst his hopes were high his expectation wasn't.

We steamed out to make the best of the tide in what were not exactly calm waters but with no one else seeming to venture out that day we could have had our choice of marks.

Aaron put on the fish from the off with smoothies to the 16lb mark and the ubiquitous doggies in abundance. Drift work was hit and miss with little to write home about but a fish is a fish at the end of the day and 7 people went home more than happy with those that wanted to taking fish to cook.

Will be back soon as the service means you just daren't try other boats.

    2015's First Wrecking Trip

With a nice high pressure rolling in and a free day with relatively small ish tides a last minute individuals day was booked to finally open up our 2015 wrecking account, 4 lads took the bait all being new regular anglers aboard Bad Boyz for 2015.

The weather gods were kind and forecasting 4-8mph Northerly winds which didn't really show up so a flat calm sea throughout the day was to be had!

First wreck around 25 miles SW of Holyhead didn't produce any fish just a few missed takes, tension was growing as the jokes passed and the quietness came, after 45 minutes and many different drifts on and around the Wreck a move was in order, 20 minutes later 5 miles further out we arrived at the second wreck of the day an old 3 tunnel steamer from the late 1800's. First drift and fish on was called, we fished the wreck from an 1 1/2 before through to slack water as it produced a steady steam of Pollack to 7lb, plenty of Pouts to 2 1/2lb and the one cod of 4lb once to tide started to increase wreck 3 of the day was plumbed into the plotter and a course set.
40 minutes 10 miles further once again brought us to one the the biggest wrecks in our book set in 110mtr of water and showing marks on the sounder!!
Within the next couple of hours we had a good stamp of larger Pollack to the boat averaging 6 - 12lb including a couple of PB's to Simon and Matthew.

The day was called and a course set for Holyhead and Bad Boyz put upto 16knts for the 2-1/2hr steam back to port, few photo's taken and 69fish tallied up which between mainly 4 anglers fishing including to first time wreckers was a very good day.

Best fish - Pollack 12lb 3oz to Mr Colin Poutin

Best lure - Savage gear sandeel slug

    Jun 2014 by Aaron Smith

Well it's been a busy few weeks for us on board Bad Boyz 2, we've mostly been on the drift hitting a big amount of Pollack and Coalfish to 4lb as well as a few Codling and Wrasse.

Fishing around Holyhead Deeps is on fire at the moment with a large amount of Tope, bulls and Spurdog to 20lb+++

When the weather has been to bad to get offshore we've been hitting a few new spots around the bay at anchor which has shown up to a dozen place to just shy of the 3lb Mark on light tackle along with the odd Skate.
There are Smoothies around but unfortunately not like recent years BUT ( everyone likes a second BUT ) if your wanting to catch a big smoothie Holyhead is certainly the place to try, every year we see fish well into the 20+lb area.

Off out to the offshore wrecks around the 30mile Mark this next few days in search of big Pollack so look out for an update.

    Enjoy the picture, tight lines

New for 2014 a large Sandeel trawl, we will be keeping a stock of live sandeels on board Bad boyz to help minimize your spends on bait.
If anyone has fished with them before will know they are almost unbeatable and will take fish even on slow days.

This is also in aid of off the all new to Bad Boyz Charters which is the Bass trips, we will be running down the llyn Peninsula to an area known as the tripods banks which come alive for bass through till December.

We are the only vessel offerring these trips on the west coast of Anglesey as well as Wrecking.

Next Individuals wrecking trip 13th June, there is 4 Spaces still available
