    With our journey south and tuna trips getting closer we've been getting Galloper ready this week. The outriggers suddenly make her look more like a big game boat.     Sorry I haven't posted much lately. To be honest I've been very busy and didn't want to turn more people away. There's been some lovely variety coming out over the last week or two. We've seen some more stingrays and our biggest by far the other night. Mark had a plaice on a general trip and we've seen a few small thornback rays. Stanley had one just the right size for him. The bass fishing has been good inshore and offshore lately depending on the tides and there have been some nice hounds too. I have a few spaces over the next couple of weeks before I head south for tuna and more. If you want to join us here in brightlingsea or for tuna in Plymouth please get in touch.

    Sorry I haven't been on here much this week or so but I have been very busy on the boat and at home.
    We have been making the most of the good weather and catching some nice fish. There have been a few different species although most trips are made up with bass and hounds.
    Our offshore trips are mainly targeting bass from now until December and we have seen some great shoals of fish working at times (though not always that easy to catch) and the bait fishing has been good at times too.

    Bobby made the most of the lovely weather and the lads had a cracking day for an offshore bass trip. We were into fish from the off and had steady fishing throughout the day trying several marks at different states of the tide. The fish were were of mixed sizes but there were some really chunky fish mixed with them. We have been doing well on the bass lately, particularly on the offshore trips. These will continue until the end of November. I have spaces this week for offshore and general trips.

    I thought I'd share some of the less common species we have had lately. Mostly offshore but some more colourful fish like tub and red gurnard, greater weaver fish and even some black bream. Of course the bass are our main targets offshore from now until December but it's nice to see the other fish too.
    The general trips are still producing hounds and bass inshore as well as some other bits and bobs. I have spaces in the next week on general and offshore bass trips

    Phil had a great trip the other day. The weather was nice and the hounds were feeding well. He had over 10 himself with several around double figures. He also had a bonus stingray too. He said it was a shame his friend Matt couldn't make it. Not to share the fishing but just to watch him catch so much! ��
    The fishing has been great inshore for hounds and offshore for bass lately.
    It's been nice to have some settled weather too.

    Tony and the lads had a great day on the hounds recently. There were fish of all sizes but a lot between 8-12lb and the biggest around 13-14lbs though it was quite busy so we didn't even weigh it! There were multiple hook ups and screaming reels at times. They kindly let Stanley fish too and I think he is getting the hang of holding them now. Not bad for a nearly 3 year old! There were a few bass too but mostly hounds.
    Hopefully they keep coming over the next few weeks.

    We've been very busy making the most of the decent weather lately. There continue to be some lovely bass and hounds coming out on our general trips with a few different species showing too. The offshore trips are producing the best variety with bass, plaice, Launce, tub gurnard, red gurnard, scad, weaver and lots of mackerel showing.
    Katie and Doug had a couple of lovely bass among the hounds on their trip as well as a nice tan as well I would imagine!

    Sorry I haven't been on here much. I've had lots to sort out since we were granted the tuna permit. i also broke another phone so I'm short on pictures.
    The good weather has also meant I've been working a lot of hours and out of signal range.
    We started on our offshore bass trips last week. Richards group did well in some challenging conditions ahead of this settled spell. Thankfully the fish were feeding well and we managed a few on lures and good numbers on bait. Once the lads got in the grove there was a steady stream of fish coming in. The lads kept two each and we ended up putting lots of sizable fish back. There were plenty of fish just shy of the limit and a few hounds too.
    We mixed in more lures and live bait as weather conditions improved over the following days and had some lovely fish in the 4-6lb range too.
    Our general trips have produced more decent hounds and even another Conger and a stingray.

    There's some great mixed fishing around on our general trips at the moment. Bass and hounds are the main targets but we have seen a few rays, dogfish, tope and more amongst those trips.
    Offshore bass trips start from now and run right into December. This can produce some great fish and fantastic sport on light gear too. Depending on conditions we will use worm at anchor or lures and live bait.
