Few pics from the weekend of 20/21st Oct 2018 just plenty of whitting all day wherever we went, odd thornback still about with spotty dogs but not so many thank god! All the fish inshore couldnt catch a thing offshore complete waste of fuel and time. I presume everything is eating the shrimp on the beaches. Still patchy herring probably due to the water temperature of 14.5 degrees so no fresh bait at the mo. Bad forcast cold winds and snow for weekend with artic blast unfortunately we need it bring on the cod. Many thanks to everyone from the weekend was most enjoyable.Cheers Jon (High Flyer 2)

Well its been a hard couple of weeks with extremely windy weather at the weekends typical when the boats full ! Lost last weekend totally home early Sat by 11 am , Sun was a no goer, this Sat 13th was 45 mph southerlys but managed today with 3 different forcasts all wrong ended up with a rather strong northerly . Why cant the weather people with all their technology just get it right here and there! Well basically picture today is of John Currie with a female roker returned, made a nice change from the whiting he was hauling in! We lost a decent fish that we never saw was right at the boat then gone shame really. All day to be honest was whiting of all sizes one or two nice ones plus doggies of all sizes kept us occupied unfortunately no codling for us today but still very warm water temp 15 degrees on finder not really cod water. Praying for some colder weather but not according to our friends at the weather centre were still holding on to our Indian summer so who knows . Will be out this coming Tues will see what we can find. Big thanks to all today very much enjoyed it good load of banter as usual and happy birthday to Dave Lumley appreciate you coming out on your special day. Tight Lines everyone.

Weekend of Sat 29th /Sun30th Sep 2018 last of the spring tides so stayed inshore ended up with few thornbacks all returned, few small end of summer smoothounds only one worth a picture with Maria ! Plenty of whiting all day bit of a pain at times but no spotty dogs water temp now 15 degrees . Was a pleasure to have Tonys crew on board from London many thanks guys. Sun tried offshore for mackerel got a whole one with few sandeels and gurnard and weavers thrown in. Weather beat us had to retreat back inside just caught too many whiting again. Picture today of Maria from London with her 5lb smoothound returned. Until next time. Jon (High Flyer 2)

Very windy weekend managed to get both days in with hugging the shoreline, Sat was a better day with a few small female thornbacks in all returned, whiting and doggies of all sizes all day non stop virtually. Was very pleased to have local fishing boat donate couple dozen fresh herring which i think done the trick nice to see start of them . Water temperature 17.5 degrees still warm we need a run of cold spell now to help things along. This week we caught couple of small codling both returned was nice to see but have been plagued with spotty dogs of all sizes funny really as they disapeared all summer? Sun for us was a bit lumpy but the boat copes well with wind against tide with our heavy full chain anchor constant whiting and doggies soon as tide ran least it kept us busy. No rays today not sure why i blame the skipper! Was a most enjoyable weekend big thanks to Dave from Leicester for organising everyone for Saturdays trip and Toni from Thetford for Sundays it is a funny time of year changeover period i call it wioth summer doggys and winter whiting things all over the place. Todays picture is young Stacey first time aboard with her first thornback . Until next time tight lines everybody. Jon (High Flyer 2)

With strong tides on the new moon starting today and a blustery south west we decided to stay inshore and have a comfortable day. To be honest expected some skate which have been hanging around on the inside but we didnt get one today i blame the skipper myself! well from the start the doggies were a pain of all sizes most liking the squid as they do, rattling away all day i cant remember a period when they wernt bitting! Same with the whiting constant all day was great sport but on the other hand a pain! Big thanks to Bert for organising the trip also newbies onboard , looking forward to our next one hopefully colder with no doggies and a few cod thrown in. Enjoyable day guys many thanks to you all, good banter. All best. Jon (High Flyer2 )

Had a great day out on the 19 Aug 18 aboard the High Flyer. Loved the new boat, unfortunately nothing new about the Skipper, sorry Jon, just getting my own back lol, plenty of banter, tea/coffee and chocolate biscuits.
Me and Ed won't be leaving it too long until we book another day out.
Again cheers Jon for a great day out.

Wed 22nd aug headed out with DXB Water Company ended up 11 miles from port on a bit of ground we dont often fish. Very surprised with small fish in form of a foot long spurdog same with a tope, and perfect little skate one no bigger than a side plate lovely to see nature breeding next years sport hopefully. Ended up with ten small skate returned few spotty dogs, got beaten by a strong southerly breeze instead of the 7 to ten mph westerly forcast! Ended up back inside for some pin whiting and odd small smoothy. Was a enjoyable day looking forward to next trip big thanks to Derek Ball for organising everyone. Cheers jon (High Flyer 2)
