Excellent day out again with Jon and the lads, expected some larger fish as the cold weather and rough seas had put pay to any fishing for a couple of weeks but not to be, even though most enjoyable there were a few Cod
and some decent Whiting maybe next time we can get out to the deeper water and bag a few bigger fish, good day with plenty of coffee and soup to keep you warm.

Headed out today meeting a very swelly sea, scuppering plans of our 5 mile bank, quite surprised at the height, would be impossible to anchor up and fish sensibly so yes back to old Corton Roads our saviour! Bit lumpy till slack water but one cod straight away with the whiting making a show as the water eased. The whiting stayed with us most of the day not as big as they have been ,few keepers among them, ended up the day with 5 cod , no flatties at all today and a surprised token pouting! Thanks to the lads for coming out today, weather was good, most enjoyable with our normal banter! Thanks to first timers on the High Flyer, John and Derek and Brian ,hope your trip was memorable, also Chalky,Steve and Len pictured, Paul,Dave, and Chris.
And from me thanks lads for washing down on way home, not many do and its very much appreciated. Top marks lads, wasnt the greatest of catches but thoroughly enjoyed your company, See you all soon, .Jon.

Bringing the reports up to date Jan 5th 2013, being the last trip, our plans of the 12 mile bank were scuppered by fog halfway out so with safety in mind decided to try the banks inbetween South Cross and South Corton Buoy. No good at all for cod, just flatties and small whiting. Peservered most of the day moving twice, still no cod even though decent size marks on the sounder! On seeing 2 porpoises this time of year this weather seems too mild for decent cod, on the way home picked on a mark of mine just off the shore to finish off with plenty of the usual flatties and whiting, dissapointed with no cod, we could always stay and pick up small stuff off Corton but with flat seas it seemed silly not to get offshore apart from the fog! Thanks to the lads ,Steve,Dave,Larry,Adam,James,Neil,Guy,Chalky and Paul, was good banter as usual, and dont forget who caught the first whiting!!!!!!! Jon.

Windy old day kept us inshore again! Could do with a break please god to get out to the banks. First whiting in ten minutes had me worried as generally a bad sign, but managed a cod for the lads not long after which caused some banter in my direction! After a while i moved closer inshore , previous experience had paid off, another cod just after slack along with the whiting, then as the tide picked up so the feeding began. Results for the day were 12 cod, plenty of whiting ,not a single flatty! Thanks to Neil from H2 Kyaks, with James,David,Scotty,Guy,Chris,James,Chalky and Pete, all pictured here, was a hard fish today, every cod was well deserved. Big thanks to all the first timers on the High Flyer, hope you enjoyed the day, was a pleasure to have your company, hope to see you all in 2013! Have a great xmas men,all the best. Jon.

Day off today for myself so went fishing!!!!!!!!!! Me and buddy Martin headed out first light , bit lumpy after yesterdays blow but slot in the weather proved ok. Started well with codling coming aboard on the ebb along with the whiting, went through slack today with no flatties at all really strange. On the start of the flood the fish started feeding straight off to our surprise, ended up with 14 cod, and numerous whiting, picture of yours truly with days dinners! thanks to Martin for the company and intellectual conversation, also may i take trhe opportunity to thank all who have supported the High Flyer this year, in coming out fishing and diving without you the buisness wouldnt run. Also may you all have a brilliant christmas and new year best wishes to you all. All the very best . Jon. (High Flyer)

Strong wind and tides today kept us inshore, forcast was pants as usual! Previous trips getting bashed about on the banks hadn,t paid off as cod still not in numbers at present so kept fairly inshore on the 4 mile mark. Whiting and flatties from the start on the first mark, moving further off as the tide eased to a favourite mark that has produced lately still same old fish,no cod. As the ebb started we came back inshore off Tramps, whiting again couldnt be off them. As the other boats left we moved again to prime ground in the Roads still no cod, wasnt no good even though we stayed late, plenty of fish just not what we wanted! Thanks to Dave on his 50th birthday, with Chris , Bobby,Chalky,Simon,Kev,Tony and Steve, few first timers on the Flyer, hope you enjoyed the day, looking forward to seeing you again soon. Picture of Bobby and Chris with few whiting. Thanks lads. Jon.

Mixed bag today, break in the weather for a change, allowed us to head out after lunch to one of the banks i use when the fish are not in numbers. Previously had been in the Roads catching small codling and numerous whiting as usual. On approaching the bank noticed decent echoes on the sounder which looked hopefull. The result was some very good size whiting and flatties along with 2 cracking cod this early in the season, one 8lb the other shade over 9lb which both fell to Ian on flowing squid trace.Lovely to see as we have been waiting longer than usual . Big thank you to James for organizing the trip again, with anglers Ian,Dougy,Bruce,Dave,Ian,Steve,Clive,Les and Chris. Hope this cold spell starts the fish off with plenty more of these coming aboard, looking forward to our night time expeditions ,watch this space. Well done men, enjoyed the day ,nice result. Jon.
