Very lumpy southerly today only got half day in my thanks to DXB Water gang long drive for some much appreciated. Wind bit stronger than forcast. Rain was beating down most of the morning bit unpleasant! Managed couple thornbacks on herring baits , few keeper whiting and those annoying spotty dogs thrown in for good measure! Had to cook the bacon rolls in the harbour!!!! Many thanks to Derek for organising everyone, hope next trip weathers kinder to us. Will see what tomorrow brings wind swinging to west and lighter.

Another blowey northerly today kept us inside but not too bothered, plenty of stuff to keep us amused inshore. Kept looking at the breakers smashing up on the bank lucky we could hide up. Caught 2 thornbacks within ten minutes of setting the hook, whiting, doggies of all sizes most of the day, small quiet period over slack but to be expected in these small tides. Cant say who lost two fish both must of been crackers took line couldnt hold them just smashed Callum up!!! Ended up with about 8 thornbacks kept one rest returned, moved in the afternoon to a little smoothound favourite of mine few nice ones to end the day off with picture today of Jess first time on High flyer 2, was a good day for the weather quite enjoyble. Big thanks to everyone looking forward to the next time. Cheers Jon (High Flyer 2)

Bringing us to date been extremley hot bank holiday with small tides lovely flat sea, been 35 miles out to few wreck pretty poor to be honest, some jumbo mackerel plenty of whitting etc. Lost few tope this last week these weaker tides they seem to pick at the bait rather than a secure hooking. plenty of smoothounds inshore for sport along with spotty dogs. Caught quite a few eels lately on crab or worm they must be migrating from broads at moment. Will be looking for few tope midweek unfortunately only got one space available this coming saturday rest of week full. Picture today of young Carmen with a bass on her birthday . Looking forward to few trips this month to end the summer off then before you know it nights will be drawing in again! Keep u posted. Cheers Jon High Flyer 2
