Having fished over 30 years & been out with numerous skippers, Colin is one of the best. Moving to find the fish, always willing to impart his knowledge of local waters and offer help & advice, being attentive towards the needs of newer anglers especially, Colin is a great skipper and king of the flatfish. You'll have a laugh & might be lucky enough to get a bit of Mrs Penney's legendary cake, as well as a PB!!

Skippers Reponse: Thanks Jamie and I hope to see you on Flamer IV again soon for some fish and cake.

We had a great day abourd Flamer IV. The boat is clean, modern and spacious. Colin and his crew were very friendly and made us welcome. My friend hasn't fished for a number of years and was helped when needed throughout the day. He also hired rod and reel from Colin that was of very good quality. The fishing and whether was challenging but Colin worked hard to put us on a variety of species including my first Turbot. I will defiantly be bookin again soon.

Skippers Reponse: Thanks Mathew I am glad you enjoyed your day on Flamer IV and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

I was crewing for Colin on day two of Trevor Fennessy's trip. The Facts Are: This booking was transfered from Meerkat to Flamer IV on my recommendation as I was unfit to carry out the booking. So Trevor did not book the boat based on reviews, in fact he did not book the boat AT ALL, it was organised by Roger Chase! On day two the wind was moderate Easterly with the forcast for the rest of the week going East to South-East Strong (force 5-6). There were 3 of the 7 anglers already sea sick on this day, so Colin advised them about the options for days, 3, 4 and 5. The group decided to hold a meeting on the evening of day 2 to discuss the options and let Colin know there decision. The organiser rang Colin to let him know that they had decided they wanted to cancel the last three days. The only boats that did go to sea on days 3, 4 and 5, were all participating in the WIBAC competition and would have gone out in any event, even if they ended up fishing behind the breakwaters in Portland Harbour. In fact it is not unknown for the WIBAC comp to be held in Weymouth Harbour when the winds are howling from the East or South-East! This is a classic case of SOUR GRAPES and shame on you Trevor for posting this crap!!

I booked a 5 day fishing trip with Colin on the reviews he had, we were a party of 7 on day 2 he cancelled the rest of the week due to the weather so how dose he explain how all the other boats that where smaller than his went out every day and had caught plenty of fish !!! l myself would not recommend him to anybody, Thanks for ruining our annual trip Trevor.

Skippers Reponse: That's unfair Trevor I gave your Group the choice to go or not and explained about the strong easterly wind forecast for the rest of the week and your group decided not to go.

Great days fishing Colin. Three Spurdog pb's in succession topped by one of 20lb's. Wonderful. Of course the banter was of it;s usual high quality.

Colin, just a quick review to say thanks for the fantastic trip on Easter Sunday, got to be the best wrecking trip I have ever been on, beating my ling PB three times on a cutbait herring was the icing on the cake. For anyone reading this I would highly recommend Colin as a skipper he’s always friendly whether newcomer or regular and he will always do his best to put you onto fish. This last trip was a fine example, plenty of pollack and a couple of ling on lures from the first wreck, a couple of fishless drifts and we were off to another wreck for a repeat of the first. Fishing slowed again and Colin decided to revisit the first wreck again as the tide was dropping and there would be an opportunity to fish for ling. Well a few drifts to locate the fish and then it was back to the hotspot every time with fish caught or lost on most drifts. Couple the action with the brilliant weather and you get the stuff that memories are made of….. and if your memory is as poor as mine there are always the photographs that Colin sends you as a reminder.

Skippers Reponse: Thanks for review John. It was a pleasure as always to have you on board Flamer IV.

FLAMER 1V 5 DAY ANGLING BREAK. The opportunity to fish 5 straight days on Flamer 1V is not one to be missed. It affords last minute decisions to be made as the weather changes and we took the the rare chance to fish for several for seveal species from pollack on live sand eel to black sea bream, where the fishing was electric on light gear. The minute you step on board you know where you are with Colin, he just never stops working to find fish for his crew. At the end of the day, rather than a long drive home, a 5 minute walk to a B&B has to be the icing on the cake. Then in the evening the social side and the chance to relax in good company is a bonus as is eating in Colin,s favourite chinese restaurant with its "special puddings". A great week,s fishing with good company and an excellent skipper. Thanks Colin.

Skippers Reponse: Thanks Trevor, I am glad you enjoyed the trip and I am looking forward to seeing you and the boys on the 2015 Angling Break that is already planned and booked.
