Absolutely first class day! Anglers all, and kayak anglers at that so used to fishing hard and often but this was different - way further out than normal (14 miles), deeper than normals (113ft), for different and larger fish than normal (tope) and different tactics than normal (jigging wrecks for cod). Jon often gives us a wave in passing and checks we're okay when we're out so when it came to taking us out he layed on one hell of a fine treat by taking us to new and unlikely (for us) territory and boy did he produce the goods. Top tip: LISTEN TO YOUR SKIPPER! We all learnt a lot of good stuff today. Good coffee, bisciuts, chocolate bars, advice, tackle, banter; we saw loads of porpoises, had a comfortable and spacious boat to fish from with good facilities and most of all fish (dream fish for some!). Thank you Jon, we'll see you for the cod if not before!

Top skipper. Jon really knows his stuff and today he instructed, encouraged and did everything to make our day a success. A top days fishing.

Skippers Reponse: Thank you Nigel appreciate your comments, not a bad day in all, hope your first time was memorable with your tope. All the best. Jon.

Outstanding day even though tide did us no favours.

Skippers Reponse: Thank you Andy, first time on the Flyer glad you enjoyed it, strong old tide mate least we got a few. Look forward to seeing you next month. Appreciate you taking time to add the review. Jon.

Great day out on the water, big tides put the mackerel off but we got loads of variety on the species front. Wont mention my world record (smallest) pouting! Wind swung round to SE which killed the sport dead. As always Jon was not afraid to up anchor and move to get us the best fishing possible. Great day, looking forward to the next trip.

Skippers Reponse: Thanks Paul, cant believe the pouting! And where they were, this year has been crazy! Appreciate you coming out especially in our fine british weather!!! Look forward to the next time. Jon.

  • 5-star James Taylor (14/08/2013)

Another great day with Jon onboard the High Flyer, set sail at 0800 and headed north looking for clear water for mackerel fishing, and found a great few shoals of mackerel with loads of mackerel, wind picked up, turned to a bloody eastly which was the kiss of death for fishing around here, swell started to pick up, so we headed inshore, went to a regular spot, but the wind was stronger than the tide and make it uncomfortable, so we headed in, but all in all a good day with loads of mackerel, tea and biscuits. Thanks again Jon :)

Skippers Reponse: Started well James, lovely british weather kicked in yet again! Least we had a nice busy spell and something to take home. Cheers mate see you soon. Jon.

Thank you Jon for another great day of Fishing. Catching some mackerel with my nephew and seeing the seals was great. As usual, you got us to the fish just the weather just would not cooperate this afternoon. Oh well.

Skippers Reponse: Thank god for the inshore mackerel! This weather this year is unbelievable isnt it. Dont tell anyone about the seal trip ,they will all want it!!!!
