Lots of great fish coming up at the moment , species caught this week include Bass, codling, pollock, smoothounds , Thornback Rays, Grey Gurnard , mackerel, launce and the ever reliable doggies !
All caught whilst fishing the sheltered calm waters of The Haven.

After 9 successful years in the English Channel from Ramsgate, Kent, we have moved to the bountiful waters of West Wales.
You can board the boat either at Hobbs Point, Pembroke Dock or Milford mackerel stage, phone to confirm which suits you best. Both offer plenty of parking and easy access .
We aim to take individuals most days or the whole boat can be booked if you prefer.

Great weather and great catches , what more could we ask for ? Long may it last !
Plenty of skate inshore with more and more Bass and hounds showing every day as the crab moult starts. For the skate herring and blueys are still the top baits. Obviously peeler crab is the favourite natural bait for the hounds and bass inshore.
The offshore trips have been productive with some great catches of 50+ cod and pollock in a day.
Old methods such as pirks and feathers work well for the more powerfully built anglers and shads/Redgills are working well for the more sporting chaps !
Pictured is Will on his 1st wrecking trip with a fine 14 lb 10 oz pollock he caught, well done.

WOOHOO !
The fishing starts NOW !
After a winter rest and a repaint for the boat we're back and in action .
Cod and pollock are showing on the wrecks and the Cod and Bass fishing will only improve over the next few weeks.
Lots of Skate are showing inshore and over the next few weeks the Early Big Bass will show inshore.
The inshore rock marks will fish well with either peeler crab or Lug/Rag baits for Bass.
Herring/Bluey or Squid baits will work best for the Thornback Rays that are prolific at the Goodwin Sands.
Plaice and Turbot are showing at the offshore banks.

May I take this chance to wish all our Anglers and Friends of Kentcharterfishing/Excel 2 all the very best for Christmas and a Fishy New Year.
Our season for 2014 will start in April, please book early for the best tides for Tope/Bass and big Cod wrecking trips. Corporate and Fun days always available.

Some decent cod have been caught but sadly the wind has been too strong on many weekends making it very difficult.
Great to see a better run of Spurdogs, these seem to be slowly making a comeback.
On many trips the trusty Thornback Rays and big Whiting have saved the day !
Best Fishes for 2014, Keep it tight and remember to book early !

Halfway through another month and yet again the fishing at Ramsgate has been outstanding.
Bank fishing trips have been good with tasty Turbot and prime Plaice showing to classic drift tactics.
Inshore we've had lots of Bass along with Smoothounds and superb Skate.
The wreck trips have been successful with boxes of Cod and Pollock being caught.
As the weather now heads into Autumn and winter we will be finding Big Bass close inshore and the Cod will also move in. Best baits through this period will be Lugworm/Squid and Cuttlefish . Some good sized whiting have been showing the last few days and thankfully the Dogs have not been quite as plentiful !

Plenty of cracking fish again at Kentcharterfishing , Ramsgate's top boat .
Daan from Holland and his mates had great fun with Tope to 42lb.
Good cod , bass and pollock on the offshore wrecks. Nice plaice and a few turbots on the banks.
Lots of bass inshore to most methods but live baits having the edge.
Ring me for the best tides and biggest Bass in September.

Plenty of Bass inshore along with hard fighting Hounds and the perennial Thornback Rays.
The wrecks are full of good sized Cod and a few black bream.
Drifting the banks is still showing good numbers of Plaice and some cracking Tope.
Having a full 60 mile license from any safe haven we have more options than most !
