Experience. Will chalk off today to exactly that! Hard day afloat, weather not as great as enjoyed of late and the fishing followed a similar path. Drifting was good fun plenty of pollack and a few codling caught, with a few big enough for the table along with strings of small coal fish. An hr inshore at anchor returned only dogfish with a few small small huss and 2 small rays.
The Deep ... Well having had our first couple tope of the year out on Sunday followed by a great amount of pack tope to 25lb on Monday, today turned out to be a struggle with dogfish and huss the bulk of the catches. However Duncan and Harry enjoyed a small battle with our first smoothhound of the year and Rob managed to catch his first ever tope. A nice 15lber to finally tick this species of his list.
