    Report on-board Shy-Torque III

    We took a mixed group of 6 lads out today on our second Uptiding trip of the year.

    Regular lads Derek Coulson and Richard from Pickering, along with four lads from Nottingham joined us for the trip.

    A perfect forecast and a lovely tide for the day welcoming us as we headed out just before 07.00hrs.

    We dropped our lines on the first mark, just over 2 miles from the harbour where, after an hour or so, we only managed to boat around 8 Codling, with only 2 of those being keepers.

    We moved on a further 4 miles to a really good, hard piece of ground, to get the last bit of the tide before slack water.
    Good signs from the off with 4 Codling coming over the gunwales in the first 10 minutes.
    Across slack, the lads still managed a few fish and as the flood tide came through, the fish began playing the game nicely.

    Martin Newbury from Nottingham took the best fish of the day, a Codling nudging 6lb.
    Derek and Rich from Pickering had the best catch with the pair having 14 fish between them. All told, around 35 fish for the boat.

    A great day on the boat for the lads with some good banter as usual.

    The Shy-Torque Uptiding Competition is coming up quickly. December 1st - 7th inc.
    We still have room on some of the days if you fancy a bit of Xmas cheer!
