Over the past few weeks the weather hadn’t been on our side, meaning we have snook an odd trip whenever we could. We are now into our winter uptide/downtide fishing and the trips we have managed to get in have saw good numbers of cod over the rails to 7lb for regular Peter Lee Catchpole, aswel as ling to 10lb for David Jenkins , pollock to 6lb and a thornback ray for our Dan who joined us for a day out, with majority of fish falling to squid and black lug cocktail baits, on the pennel rigs.
We have spaces throughout winter on our uptide/downtide trips and trips run 8am till 4pm, and at £45pp with hire gear and tackle all thrown in with the price you don’t want to miss out.
If your looking to stock up those freezers with a few fillets then give us a call.

Cracking day today for the lads on the alexia, with non stop action on the uptide grounds. Once the flood tide came through it was a fish a Chuck with some cracking cod coming aver the rails with plenty around the 5lb mark and the biggest around 8lb. We also had 7 year old Ben out for his first ever boat fishing trip and it wasn’t long before he was into his first ever cod of around 4lb and that was him instantly hooked on fishing, the look on the lads face when his rod kept nodding it really was great to see and fantastic to see the youngsters getting into fishing. We also ran a couple of trips in the run up to Christmas with a steady picking of codlings. With the recent north easterlies the water was like pea soup and the squid and blacks cocktails worked a treat.
Some better fish starting to show there heads now it’s looking promising for the month ahead.

The latest northerlies and autumn feed have made the fishing very hit and miss, over the past few weeks. The latest set of neap tides did however bring some good fish on to the feed with plenty of ling into double figures and some lovely plump cod to 6lb and pollock to 5lb. We have also had a couple of trips on the uptide grounds and seen some good numbers of cod come over the rails. Squid baits fished well overall for ya on the better days with some nice bags of around 60 to 70 fish on the better days. The signs are promising for the winter uptide, downtide fishing this winter so book now to avoid disappointment.

Not had chance to do an update for a while so I’ll start with the the trips over the last set of neap tides and what a cracking week of fishing it was with a few regulars fishing that week, Steve kitson, Peter lee catchpole, David Jenkins and Glynn, just a few of the names getting non stop action over the wrecks with some lovely fish into double figures coming over the rails, with several rods bent every drift. We have had ling to 11lb and cod to just shy of double figures and pollock to just over 7lb. Shad, hokais, daylights and baited muppets all fishing well. As the tides increased the fishing tailed off slightly but we still picked away at some nice fish with tony bets landing a nice brace of codlings just shy of 8lb. We have also been running a few taster trips with the school summer holidays in full flow and so far the kids have not been disappointed with some lovely pollock and cod and a few mackerel coming aboard.
We’re still taking bookings for our 2hr evening trips and 3hr taster trips as well as our full day trips. We’re also now taking bookings for our winter uptide/downtide fishing, with spaces on all our trips filling up fast please book early to avoid ld disappointment.

Hi everyone, it’s been to long since our last update, due to the coronavirus pandemic and it’s been horrible hard times for everyone, and we hope you have all stayed safe. Our last update was on January and we did manage a few trips throughout February and into early March just before the lockdown was introduced. As you no from our previous reports we were uptide/downtide fishing under anchor and the fishing was superb. So we’ve added a few more pics from the February to early March period with some lovely cod just shy of double figures. We have also during the last couple of weeks had the electronics updated on the boat with a superb Olex 3D system with ground discrimination, aswell as new hondex sounder, koden gps system and new 17” displays. These systems are fantastic for showing all the sea beds features ie ledges, reefs wrecks, hard and soft ground aswell as displaying a complete 3D image helping us make sure we’re constantly on the right mark with your average sounder not showing this kind of detail, it really is a fantastic bit of equipment.
We also have some good news .
We are now able to operate following government guidelines, and with new risk assessments in place and social distancing marked out on the boat, we can now carry 6 anglers. The wheelhouse is totally out of bounds to anglers and we’re really sorry to say that we can’t help novice anglers at this period due to the social distancing rules so at the moment we’re only carry anglers that can fish unaided. The numbers we can carry and the social distancing rules may change over the coming weeks and months but at the moment that’s we’re we stand. Also the boat and any hire equipment will be disinfected before and after every trip and face coverings are advised to be brought or we can supply you with one. We’re not saying you have to constantly wear one but it’s there if you wish to. Also anybody displaying any symptoms no matter how big or small is advised not to travel for a fishing trip and that will also be at our discretion. We slso ask that you follow social distancing when approaching the boat. We’re now into our wreck fishing season and the mackerel are showing aswell as some lovely cod and ling over the wrecks. To book or for more info please feel free to give us a call on 07470354403 or contact us through the website. Tight lines for now and stay safe.

We say the the bigger fish come out to play in January and we’re not wrong. Fishing so far this month on the uptide / downtide grounds has been fantastic with some lovely cod coming over the rail. A better stamp of fish are now showing with plenty of 3lb to 5lb plump codlings. We also had a few around the 6lb to 8lb mark and over the weekend a couple of crackers by regular Dave Jenkins with two personal bests in one day with first drop of the flood tide, seen him pull a nice 11lb fish over the rails and then last drop of the day a cracker of 15lb and finishing the day with a cracking bag of 33 cod he was over the moon. All fish falling to unwashed squid and blacks. We have a busy week ahead so hopefully there’s a few bigger ones still to be caught. For info or to book a trip with us contact Barry in 07470354403

The uptide/downtide fishing throughout December and into January has been excellent so far with us seeing on average around 60 codlings per trip coming over the rails. So far the weather has been a lot more settled with after November’s wipeout it’s a relief. We have had cod upto 8lb and plenty around the 5lb and 6lb mark with a mixture of squid, blacks and cart all fishing well. There is still plenty of cod to be had and this month usually starts to throw up a better stamp of fish and it’s when the bigger cod usually start to feed. We have also opened the diary for our spring and summer season with some great fishing to bff we had over the many wrecks and reefs and ground here at Whitby. We also have tea and coffee now on tap and the use of a microwave is available if anybody would like to bring food to warm up. We also have the spring and summer festivals fast approaching and over the next few days I’ll be adding those dates to our cbuk calendar. For more info or to book call Barry
